Works just fine
Consumer in Puget Sound•August 19, 2018
Works great as a direct replacement for original/OEM units behind glove compartment (passenger side) of my 2007 Impala SS.
The job itself is a PIA, but I got it done in about an hour with the help of a couple of online how-to videos.
Very happy with this part, as it completely resolved the clicking sound caused by broken plastic gear teeth in the original actuator.

worked on my 2008 Chevy Impala. Actually need to get one more since the second actuator is starting to go now too. to be honest I unplugged the second one for now to avoid the clicking noise. The new Actuator fixed the first one and works great so far. not the easiest to take off the old and put in the new due to where it is located ( 2nd one is actually worse location tucked up closer to passenger door behind the glove box.
Heavy duty feel, need to be greased inside?

Worked for about a month, now tapping noise back. The part itself doesn't feel cheap so maybe just got a bad one. Seller is sending me a new one no charge so that is nice. I read somewhere that these should be taken apart and lubed inside before install. I suppose that makes sense for longevity. Simple but not that easy to install with big hands so longer lasting part is good.
I am happy with this. Both units are working well.

I finally replaced these on my 2008 Impala a few weeks ago. They work great. If you are even a little mechanically inclined, you can do this. It takes a lot of patience to replace them. You are working blind when replacing the one on the driver's side and the one closest to the passenger door. HINT 1: Use a towel or something under the actuator near the passenger door so you do not lose sockets or screws into the heating system. HINT 2: I ran into a couple guys at the local junk yard trying to pull these off an old Chrysler. DO NOT DO THIS! The gears are nylon and they wear out after time. Spend a little more for a new part. It will save you a lot of time and effort. Hint 3: You Tube has a bunch of great videos. It really helps to watch them.
MEH. It's a temp fix.

installed and it fixed the rattling problem at first. Thought everything was good. Now how many weeks or two months later . . . the door is rattling again. May need to replace. Will try to have the part ordered through a certified dealer. you get what you pay for.
