After looking around for a bear and large varmint proof feeder I decided on OAD. I thought that the price was pretty steep but justified with two thoughts. One, if it really is bear proof I will save in lost equipment during its (hopefully) long lifetime. Two, its a pretty cool idea and its made in the good USA. It arrived on schedule and in OK condition. It appeared that somewhere along the trail it had hit something hard enough to bend one of the feet pretty bad. Fixed in 5 minutes, no worries.
While unpacking the feeder I noticed the words that make most Americans cringe. MADE IN CHINA not just the cheap little controller. The whole thing is made in China. In the description it says -No assembly or tools necessary, can be setup anywhere by anyone. Not true. You'll need to do some wiring to connect to a power source. Besides a 12V power source, you will also need a means of locking the super cheap little door which encloses the motor and controller etc.
Had I known that this was made in China, I would not have purchased it. The quality of components is sketchy at best, but not surprising considering its country of origin. sad. $400 for a Chinese feeder that still requires another $40 to make it go.

I have a bear problem and so far this feeder has won the battle. Unit works very well. I find it hard to believe anything negative on this unit? It works and works well!

So i have bought many feeders thru the years. Most all were lucky to survive a year on my bear infested farm. After 2 years i can say this feeder is truly one & done it is bullet proof . One simple modification i made was a solar charger.

Good heavy duty feeder with multiple ways to set up. Controller very easy to program and set to your needs. Lid holding water as some stated is a non issue, it may rust out in 20 years, if concerned repaint every 4 or so years. I got 6 50lbs bags of corn in, was full to top. Had in field for some time now, works great, no issue. have 2 rechargeable batteries and swap out every month or so but think they would last 6 months or more, I feed twice a day, high power for 10 seconds. Had to put a new battery in timer last week, but screen has battery life indicator so no sweat. This feeder is very well made and so far work flawlessly. Have trail cam picks of coons and cows all over it and no issues...can't find anything negative to say
