This is major upgrade from the original Xbox one i had and well worth the money for sure and i am happy i bought the system and it's just perfect with a 4k TV and games that are supported right now play great on the system
I like it.

It's not intended to be for everyone. A few of us "geeks" have the cash, interest and hardware to take advantage of it. The Xbox is my entire entertainment center. I literally use it every day, whether it be streaming services, gaming or over the air TV. I'm on 1080p and notice enhanced performance in all directions. Faster load times, better textures, everything is sharper, snappy and smooth dashboard menus. If you're a casual user you'd probably be fine with S or original Xbox one.
Potential to be best console ever!!
James✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 5, 2017
Microsoft proclaimed this as the most powerful console ever, and they weren't lying. If you a 4k tv (even if it's not HDR as well), I would highly recommend getting this as I feel it is worth the price tag. Even though only a select few xbox one games are "4k enhanced", all xbox games will look amazing on this, hell even the recently made backwards compatible original xbox game Knights of the Old Republic looks stellar on it. The loading times and increased framerate are awesome as well. 4k movies look good and there is a amazon video app that does 4k. What more could you want? If you can afford the price, get it now.
Moving to the "dark side"
Tech InsiderNovember 5, 2017
I'm a hardcore PC gamer. I was a PC gamer for more than 20 years and I have never considered Consoles as an option for me, until now.

Let me tell my story.

2 years ago I've got Xbox One as a birthday present from my wife. She is very jealous when it comes to computer games, she says that gaming takes "her" time. Mostly I'm playing Blizzard games, and she hates them! She found them stupid and never-ending, which is partially true (second part). She bought Xbox One for me because someone of her friends told that once I will try gaming on the console I'll never come back to PC. What a silly people! :)
It was always fun for me when someone said that game console has a better graphics. It means that person who said this, never tried to play a game with maximum settings and 4K resolution on my Alienware Laptop hooked to the Graphics Amplifier. I'm one of those guys who willing to pay more in order to get the best performance, that's why I bought my gaming rig.

So, I used this Xbox for almost 2 years. But most of the time I used it for consuming YouTube videos, which made this console a most expensive Chromecast player on the planet. So, I sold it.

But my wife doesn't plan to give up. I have a birthday in 2 weeks and my wife decided to make a present to me today. Guess what she bought?
Yes, she bought Xbox One X. She still desperately trying to drag me to the "dark side".

I turned it on, hooked to the 4K TV, launched few games. Well, I have to admit that in-game picture on this console looks stunning. It still not as good as on my Alienware laptop, but good enough as for 4K gaming console. Looks like they finally managed to create something almost as powerful as my laptop, but 7 times cheaper. Yes, you read it right, my gaming rig cost me more than 3.5K 2 years ago.
I'm surprised. I subconsciously trying to find any bug or design issues in order to justify the return... but it almost perfect. Almost.

I'm sitting in front of my new gift and my old laptop. My Wife near me. I see this barely noticeable victorious smile on her face, she knows that this time she is going to succeed.

"Time to choose, Mr. Freeman... It's time to choose..."

I think I'm going to give this console a second chance, it is gorgeous and deserves my attention. Moving to the "dark side" was never that excited.

I am excited that I have the most powerful console on the market packed in such a small case. Specs-wise Xbox One X is much better than PS 4 PRO or my previous Xbox One. Microsoft is using a 2.3GHz 8-core custom AMD Jaguar processor, 12GB of RAM, and a six-teraflops AMD GPU. That's two teraflops more than the PS4 Pro, a faster CPU, and 3GB more of overall RAM. The Xbox One X easily outperforms the PS4 Pro. On hardware alone, it's smaller, more powerful, and even includes a 4K Blu-ray player over its PS4 Pro competitor.

As for the cooling system, I haven't noticed any issues. Although the fans are louder than on Xbox One.

Of course, Is made for 4K gaming. I do realize that for now, most console games are designed to be played on 1080p TV. But Xbox One X is an investment in the future, the console that (i hope) will be at my home for the next few years, so I am sure that all the next games will be in 4K. As well, Microsoft promised some "enhancement" for the old 1080p games.

The new Xbox has 1TB of memory on board, seems a lot at first glance, but I would still recommend buying an external drive after some time. Games are big nowadays, around 50GB and enhanced games are even bigger - Gears of War 4 and Halo 5 are at least 100GB, and Titanfall 2 is around 70GB, so you may run out of space soon.

GAMES:
In my life, I've always enjoyed the PC gaming more, because the picture was more smooth and detail. With this console, I can now enjoy the 4K 60fps gaming. I played my favorite console game - "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and that was an ultimate experience.

If you want to see the pick of what the Xbox One X offers, play Forza Motorsport 7 - it all will be there: 4K, HDR, and 60fps. Once you've tried a game in 60fps it's hard to step back to 30fps, regardless of the resolution and textures.

The biggest problem with the Xbox One X is the lack of 4K games. Although the old games got an "enhancement", I wish I could play some exclusive games. But, I think, that it's just a matter of time.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Xbox One X is not just about the games, it's also an entertainment center. The 4K Blu-ray drive offers me crisp movies with Dolby Atmos and HDR 10 (but no Dolby Vision) support (something that PS 4 Pro doesn't have). Just keep in mind that only Amazon video and Netflix offers 4K video streaming, sadly YouTube app lacks this feature.

SUMMARY:
Xbox One X is a good investment in the ultimate gaming experience for few years ahead. This is going to be a great upgrade if you own a 4K TV. Although there aren't many 4K games out there. I still think that my Alienware laptop can give me a better gaming experience. PC gaming is the best thing on the planet, that's for sure! But good 4K gaming PC costs at least $2500. It is 5 times more than Xbox One X!
In terms of value (correlation of price vs what you get), this console is ridiculously cheap. Of course, you cant upgrade it, but you don't have to. You will be able to play all games without any issues for next 5 years, then, just throw it into the trash and buy a new one. It is $500, this year iPhone is twice more expensive!

I am extremely pleased with this gift.
Truly The Most Powerful Console Ever!!
ANIMEGIRLS✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 5, 2017
Xbox One X is truly powerful and heavy too. Don't lift it with one hand you might hurt your wrist its amazing how Microsoft manage to put all that component inside such a small body. The Xbox One X UI is finally fast and fluent before with the Xbox One and Xbox One S UI was so sluggish and sometimes unresponsive now everything loads up quick like the thumbnails from Xbox Store all data reads faster now including steaming, uploading and downloading (Even in 4K). The Xbox One X makes your classic Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games look better then ever the textures are more crisp anti-aliasing is great no more edgy lines. Not every game is 4K, but it has more support from developers to put native 4K/HDR with 30 FPS and 1080p/HDR with 60 FPS then PS4 Pro. When it comes to third party games Xbox One X is the way to go.

Xbox One X is a must buy, but the bad news is there is no exclusives for Xbox One X so if you own a high end gaming PC with a GTX 1080 your wasting money on something that has the same games you can play on PC technically you are not missing anything. When it comes to consoles I suggest PS4 Pro and Switch, plus a high end gaming PC with this you are not missing anything. Xbox One X is target for people that have no time and money to build a gaming PC like me PC gaming is super expensive...>_
Overall Xbox One X is the best alternative for a gaming PC its powerful, fast and cheap....o(^-^)o
