As accurate as a rangefinder twice its price
SAM✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 1, 2017
Love the price, and it seems accurate.

I tested this against my friend's Bushnell Tour v3 Laser Rangefinder (twice the price of the Tasco LRF) and they were in agreement (+-10 yards) up to around 350 yards. Up to 500 yards, they were in agreement +-30 yards. I didn't test past 500 yards.

I liked the 4x optical zoom. It helps to ensure you are range finding what you intend to measure.

Would make a wonderful gift. If you're like me, I've always avoided buying a rangefinder... as anytime I earmarked $200 for golf equipment... I couldn't resist upgrading a club.
Accurate and affordable

The Tasco LRF 600 is an accurate and affordable rangefinder.

From my testing, this device is quite accurate up to about 300 yards. The accuracy does begin to fall off as you approach the 600 yard limit. For golfing, this is a non-issue. For hunting, it could mean a missed shot. Do you spend more money for the accuracy? Save money and spend some time practicing with your device before heading into the field? The choice is yours.
Lightweight, Easy To Use And Accurate Too
Bill M.✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 9, 2017
This is a really nice laser rangefinder. It's compact, lightweight, accurate, and the optical quality is quite good, too. In fact, it's as good or better than much more expensive rangefinders I've used. It's an excellent rangefinder for the money. I like it a lot.

Out of the box all you need to do to set it up is open the battery door with a penny or a dime and then insert a 9 volt battery. This rangefinder also comes with a pretty nice carrying case that has a loop if you'd like to attach it to your belt. Also, the rangefinder itself has a hole just under the eyepiece if you'd like to attach a lanyard.

Like I said, this rangefinder's optics are quite good, and the in-view information display is very crisp and clear, too. It's very easy to read, and it also displays the current battery level, which I think is a nice touch.

The overall dimensions of this rangefinder is 4-3/8 inches long by 3 inches tall by 1-1/2 inches deep, and the weight with a 9 volt battery installed is 6.6 ounces.

If you're looking for a great rangefinder at a very good price, I think, like me, you'll be very pleased with this one.

If you have any questions about this laser rangefinder, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.
Phenomenal hand-size capability
John H.✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 27, 2017
The size, weight, and compactness for use are excellent. I like the hand size and the value-for-price is excellent. It is extremely easy to use. This one works at least as well as one that I used before that cost 3 times as much! It is accurate and will surprise you.

Like I told one golfing friend, it is really amazing -- almost beyond belief -- how much accuracy and power is now compacted and contained in such a small device like this, as compared to what we had to work with even twenty years ago, in the 1990's. This is really a phenomenal capability, by comparison. It is even more impressive if you try it for hunting purposes, which I am experimenting with, very satisfactorily. A 9-volt alkaline battery is required.
Great gift for those hard to buy for family members
D.Berdanis✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 2, 2017
Finally was able to get out golfing and try this rangefinder. I like how small and convenient this rangefinder is to just slip into my golf bag and carry around.
Directions are quite easy to read and understand. You will need a 9v battery since one doesn't come with it.
Fits nicely in my hand.
When looking through the viewfinder, you'll see an icon for battery life, an icon that the laser is active, and then the general viewfinder for aiming.
Was a little hard to see in lower light but, was still able to see and use it.
I'll have to say that for the price, this was as accurate as my friends, who has another known brand. So, I was quite happy seeing that.
I also liked how nice the magnification is for viewing. Really helped me with my club selection to actually beat the pants off my golf partner!
What is nice about this rangefinder is that you can also use this for hunting. Really helps to know exactly how far your target is before you waste a shot and maybe being further away from your target than you thought you were. Especially when weather conditions distort distance with the naked eye.
Would make a fantastic gift for anyone who is looking for that hard to buy for loved one.
