Very helpful when you have 2 vehicles and one is a SUV it can get tight. Also have a freezer I have to avoid so these smileys are wonderful!

I love this parking aide! Easy to install and works like a charm. I have one ball on left side of garage door to help me align the car properly on both sides to pull into the garage. Second ball hangs in garage from ceiling to tell me how far to pull in. I just got a new car and it's much bigger than what I am used to, so I was worried about scraping it pulling into the garage. This little tool is a really handy aide for me, so I can pull in with confidence.

As stated, you get 2 yellow balls on string with smiley face & 2 small eyelets you would screw into a rafter. I would suggest something else like an anchor if you need to attach to drywall. I think the eyelets could be a little larger. One broke when I was screwing it into wood (eyelet twisted off the screw end).

Pretty basic, park your car where you want it then find a spot straight up in the garage on ceiling where you want to hang this from. I think it is best to have this hit the windshield directly in front of the drivers vision instead of the center of the windshield which would be offset to your view when parking. Also with this you can see when you are getting very close as a shadow starts to appear on the bottom of the ball so you know only a few inches to go until it hits your windshield. If possible you may want to give yourself a little wiggle room.

You can also do some fine adjustment using the adjustable clip lowering so it hits the windshield earlier or raise it up so it hits later.

As it just hangs there, it does not retract when the garage door is closed. If you wanted to do this, you would need to add more string and a pulley or 2 to take up the length of string needed.

What I did to make this somewhat "retractable" so it is out of the way when our car is not in the garage was to thread the string through the eyelet & tie it to the clip on the push side. This way the ball slides up & down the string instead of trying to trap some slack in it. I marked where I want this to be when the ball is fully lowered with some white electrical tape that will also stop it there. May tweak this some more later, but so far so good :-)

Works great, great price. Easy to install (if you do not have a problem getting up on a ladder to reach your garage ceiling -- but that is an issue with some other solutions, too). I like that this has a height adjustment (which if you install it touching the windshield) allows easy adjustment of how far in the car is parked. I had previously installed a laser parking guide for my other car, but that requires having a plug to plug it in and it is harder to position the car left and right because you cannot see the laser until it is shining on the car hood or dash. With this ball solution, you can see the ball as you enter the garage and can steer yourself appropriately. I also looked at the battery powered positioning systems that sit on the floor, but I did not want something that could be tripped over when the car is not in the garage (yes, can run into the ball hanging down, but not like falling. I could not use the wall-mount positioning type in my application. Also, the sunglassed smilely face makes me smile.
