I wouldn't call this a "throttle lock". I really just slows the return to throttle close position. It helps a little in that you can take you hand off the throttle for a few seconds before you slow down enough to get run over by traffic behind you. In all honesty, it works about as well as I expected it would.

Received this today. Installation on a 2014 Vulcan 900. Instructions calls for installation on the gap between the handle and throttle control. My gap was tight that it started to scratch the black paint of the controller and would not release to throttle back with the switch off and without a pad. Just about to give up when I decided to roll back the rubber and installed it on the handle it self. It had to go past the bigger diameter end. I rolled the rubber back. The final space gap was too big and had to use 2 of the thin pads and 1 thick pad due to the large gap. I haven't tested it yet but my feeling is that it will work. I am sure I will have to keep an eye on the pads. But that is easily fixable. Had to use a black sharpie to cover the minor scratches. Things look good so far.

I have been using this on a BMW R1200GS Adventure for several months and several week-long trips. WOW! Easy on, easy off, easy to use, works flawlessly. Every other throttle lock is obsolete - and none work nearly as well.

Buy one. It will work on every motorcycle you have and everyone you will get in the future.

This is an amazing little gadget. Now keep in mind, this is not cruise control. If you go up or down a hill your speed will change. What this excels at is resting your throttle hand for a few seconds while cruising down a straight part of a highway. The lock only puts enough pressure to prevent the throttle from dropping back to its home position. If you notice traffic speeding up or slowing down, you can still adjust the throttle from lock position and keeping resting.

Had tried others with no satisfaction. This is pricey but made well. Simple install (bottom unit). I need a throttle lock so I can drop my arm and shake out the old age. A palm rest cruise doesn't allow that freedom. As stated, it is extremely well made and works perfectly. The only thing I would like to see is Atlas include an additional set screw. It's a small screw and after a little adjustment it showed signs of stripping using the included allen wrench.
