I decided to use my older iPhone as my primary bike computer using few apps (Strava and Runtastic Bike Pro). I've been using the apps for while and wanted to find best way to mount the phone to my road bike. I didn't like the handle bar mounts (as most were plastics and unable to firmly hold the phones in its place). Upon research, I came across iOttie Active edge mount (which is cleaner and less likely to get tangled with the brake/lever cables).

iOttie magnetic mount was the perfect solution. Comes with 2 rubber elastic rubber elastic bands to secure onto various bar stem thickness. Majority of the parts are metal exception to the locking mechanism button. Plus the magnetic is very strong and holds the phone in place. Just remember to 'lock' the magnetic mount once the phone is attached. The phone easily clips on and off ( just have to pull phone down and away to detach).

Now I have my iPhone as dedicated bike computer and looks clean! Can't say enough about this great quality product. Highly recommend this if you are using your phone as bike computer or even just to hold your phone while riding. I've ridden about 100 miles with the mount and it has held the phone solid!

Definitely very happy with this product. I am a bike courier for a food delivery company and I was looking at the quad lock but the price was insane and some of the reviews lead me to believe it would break pretty easily. But this very nice, the moving parts are metal so you don't have to worry about chipping a corner. The adhesive is solid so far (I'll update in a few months) Also I read people were having a problem with the included straps stretching out, so I just used two zip ties and it's pretty sturdy. Definitely recommend it!

UPDATE: Still overall very happy with this product. The only problem is if you bump your phone while peddling it'll come right off and drop your phone from a full speed bike. After the first time it comes off it's only a matter of time before the adhesive is worn out. Just super glue it. For the price, and the fact that any problem is an easy fix, I would still recommend it.

Having being use this mount for almost two years and I love it, it wear out a little bit and I am researching to see if anything new can beat this little thing. Also it's a good time to write some review. Very minimalist design, mount looks elegant on your bike, phone mount securely as long as you remember to lock it. I did have my phone fly once when riding over a bump, but that's because I forgot to lock it. The lock unlock position sometimes is a little confusing as when covered by phone, youbwont be able to see the lock button, so do double check. The holder on phone stick out a little bit, so I have a dedicated phone case only for riding purpose. I install this up side down since I feel more natural to push and close. Compare to quad lock, you only pay one third of the price and have almost the same result.

Highly recommended.

I never leave product reviews but I felt compelled"¦ I do all kinds of cycling. BMX, road & MTB ... I've purchased one of these for each one of my bikes and never had any issues.

I'm most impressed because on my mountain bike, I ride through all kinds of terrain with this mount where others have fallen off or broken. This mount holds my phone securely to the bike and I never have to worry whether it's going to fall out or not. I even crashed a few times and the phone stayed secured to the bike when I didn't. LOL

The only downfall (and I wouldn't even call this a downfall) is that the elastic band will snap. But that is normal wear on something that stretches like that. So I would call it normal wear & tear but my elastic band did not strap for 3 months.

I dont normally review an item unless I'm impressed with it given cost and such. This item targets a specific need for my road bike so if you're like me, it might just be what you're looking for! I needed a phone mount that's small, easy to use, light, and doesnt require you to twist the phone to lock it in, i.e. not like QuadLock. While that is a great product, I have Profile Design aero bars on my road bike so twisting to lock the phone in on a stem mount wasnt an option. One note to make is I'm using the RedShift Suspension Stem on my road bike. It is a bit large and it was a bit difficult to stretch the rubber bands for this mount around the stem but even the stock Deda Carbon Stem was a tight fit. It would potentially work better on a more rounded stem but it has no difficulty adapting to a more square setup.

This mount does its job well. It is constructed nicely, light, and hold well! I rode for 20 miles today on shity Italian roads over pot holes. Speed bumps, a curb or two, and normal road vibration with no loss of my phone or it coming off. What remains to be see is how well the rubber band feature it has that attached the mount to the stem will hold up over time and weather. Hopefully you can get replacements if they wear out. Also fo be seen is how well the double sided tape in the universal phone case mount holds up. It is on there pretty good so I dont see that being an issue.

Overall, I would put have again. I would definitely purchase again if you have the specific need like I do to be able to lock on without turning phone.
