We bought these to replace dinner plates, they are slightly on the smaller size for individuals on the family with bigger appetites. But good for those with smaller. The lip is enough to hold food stacked up, like pastas, salads, casseroles, etc. too small to put a burger or sandwich into.

These bowls were just what I wanted! Not too deep or too wide to take up space in the cupboard. They have a large flat bottom so they aren't tippy with pasta in them. They are heavy - surprised they are not oven safe. Color is more ecru not a crisp white, but I didn't mind at all. Excellent product for the price and fast shipping!
