Extremely Helpful Tool
Moss Family•July 10, 2018
This is a great leak detector that is easy to use and extremely accurate. The device has several sensitivity options (Low/Medium/High). Each option allows for a more detail analysis of the situation. The range of the tester unit is great for narrow areas. I tested the unit on my AC and hot water heater. I found several leaks in the hot water heater, and a minor one in the AC. Overall, the leak detector has helped me eliminate leaks in several household units.
Very sensitive, quality detector for R134a

This model is very sensitive in the high sensitivity mode when hunting down a leak in the A/C system on my car. I had to turn it down so I could actually pinpoint the specific leak. I can't comment on its effectiveness at detecting anything other than R134a, which it did great at. The visual indicator, along with the tone, makes it easy to use. It takes about 30 seconds to acclimate to the air before starting to read, so you have to keep it clear of the area where you're looking for leaks until it says it's ready to go. The carrying case is nice, if not a little on the large side for the size of the device, but it gives you some extra room for other things you might want to put in there. I didn't pay $188, so I can't say if it's worth that much or not.
