Nice quality, soft, decent construction and the dog is at least as happy in here as he was in more expensive versions. One issue, the sides don't 'stand up' as well when unzipped as more expensive soft-sided carriers. This makes it a two-handed effort to zip it. If you have a squirmy dog, or one trying to get back out, it wouldn't be easy. Ours loves the bag so rarely would try to get out while we need two hands to zip but it's a consideration. I wish the sides were a little more solidly constructed to hold better shape when unzipped.

Worked well on 2-1/2 hour trip Largest size allowed on plane for pets kept under seat. Top zipper handy to let pet to stick its head out. Easy to carry.

So glad to find a carrier that totally collapses for storage. I don't know how strong it would be for travel but it will be great for monthly trips to the vet for nails. The price was even better than one of those cardboard cases that handles break after a few trips.

Great gift

I was worried because Southwest's recommended airline measurements for pet carriers was so small, but I saw another review on this carrier and decided to take a chance. It worked perfectly for my trip. I have a puppy that weighs about 9 lbs. and stands 10 inches at the shoulders so the carrier measurements accommodated him perfectly. I will say that the middle and window seats are wider than the aisle so if you want to make use of the side opening, which REALLY made him comfortable, plan to sit in one of those seats. First picture shows it fits right under the seat (you might have to press down on the end to get it under initially, then it's fine (11 inches tall). The second picture shows from above while we were waiting for our flight he was super comfortable with both sides opened so he could really stretch out and watch everything from the safety of the carrier. The final picture shows the three spaces--aisle under seat on the left, middle seat and window area. The aisle under seat is too narrow to allow opening one of the sides, but the carrier would fit with sides closed. It does stick out from under the seat several inches, but the flight attendants didn't remark about that on either flight. Also, no one measured it prior to my boarding, so they didn't have a problem with the carrier being larger than the recommended measurements. A smaller plane, though, might be a problem. I highly recommend this carrier, it was perfect and my dog was totally comfortable the entire time.
