I bought the trackr Pixel for my drone.
I also bought a Tile mate, but returned it because the pixel had a better range/ was smaller/& best of all the battery is replacable!
I would much rather buy a 4 pack of batteries @ the dollar store for a buck, & get years of use, then buy a tile mate every year for 20 bucks!
Plus the Pixel has LED lights as well as sound.
Also, if you are out of range, when you walk in range, it conected much quiker the the tile.
As for drone use,if you lose it in the woods in a tree, you would walk to were you last saw it,then wait a few seconds & see if it connects, then push locate.
If you cant connect, you simply move over a few feet & try agian till you connect.
It's blue tooth so your range is only 100 feet, but I've had a drone in a tree 10 feet from my face before this pixel, & it took me an hour to find it, I'm thinking I should paint my drone bright orange!
My drone is small & not able to lift a heavy GPS unit, that will find it miles away, but if you have a "Hobby grade" drone like me, you only have like a 500 foot range of controll over the drone anyway, so unless you are flying in a tornado that might suck it off to to the next state, this will be an awsome low cost tracker.
If Trackr ever makes a small/cheap GPS locator, & I hit the lottery & can afford a "kick butt" real drone that can deliver groiecers to my Mom, I will be the first to buy one.
Oh, 1 more thing, they offer free batteries, & they are actually free!
I thought they were gonna charge a $9.99 shipping/ handling charge, but that's not the case, I feel guilty but I ordered one & they actually sent it!.
I'm not gonna order another BC I feel bad that I made them send it, & all the work & shipping they had to kick in.
I'm gonna buy them 4 @ a time @ Dollar tree, so I don't "burn in hell" LOL.
I've never wrote a review before, but it took me an entire night to watch dozens of Utube videos to make the choice of the pixel.
So I hope this saves you time in your search.

Can't recommend it EDIT: 6 Months Later Now I can

I don't normally like to write reviews especially bad ones but this product isn't good. EDIT: Read my addendum at the end.
Pros: User replaceable battery & low price
Cons: Everything else
The biggest pitfall with this device is the bluetooth, so far I've used it with an iPhone 6s and a LG v20. With both phones the device will lose Bluetooth connections at random times and now it refuses to pair with either phone. Not being able to pair with the device completely defeats the purpose of having it because you can't commute with it when you lose your keys or whatever it's connected to. The app is also bad because it doesn't stay on in the background so it makes the "find my phone" feature useless because you need the app to be running to make your device ring using the pixel. I really rooting for this device because I don't like that the tile's battery isn't user replaceable but I have a feeling that the tile is a better product even though I haven't used it. I'm going to give up on these smart trackers, it seems anytime something has the word smart in the name it's just a code word for headaches.
EDIT: A lot can change in 6 months, it seemed the pixel I bought was defective and I received a new one after a warranty claim. The new pixel has been trouble free so far and I haven't experienced the problems stated in the original review. The app/device stays connected to bluetooth at all times and it has been handy in helping me find my lost keys. Battery life is about 6 months with the app notifying you when the pixel's battery is low and giving you the option to mail a FREE battery replacement to you with a press of a button. Since this new pixel has performed so well during the last 6 months I felt the need to raise it from 1 star to 5. Trackr should work on their quality control since shipping out poor performing devices have probably lead to many 1 star reviews.

Purchased an 8 pack. Gave a few away to friends. The first one that was connected to blue tooth the battery died in 2 days. I did connect another one and after it paired the app said that battery was critically low. Luckily I ordered batteries after the first one said it was low. They do replace a battery once it fails but it says it is FREE but don't tell you how much shipping and handling is until you put your CC information. I didn't get that far. I need to know up front how much it will cost. Then I couldn't empty the cart. So now I have 3 batteries in my cart and can't edit the cart. I can't change the quantity nor empty my cart. Seems like a bug in the software.
The Pixel says it is loud. I disagree with that. It's NOT loud. If it was in a pocket of ones clothes I'm not sure you would be able to find it.
I'm kind of disappointed with the battery ordering and also disappointed how "loud" it is. At least could see where it is on the map if i every lose them. Also if you have left it when you are away from home, you could ask the Pixel community to find. Haven't used that yet and hope that I never do!
I watched a review on You Tune and was convinced that the Pixel was the one to buy. This is the only Bluetooth tracker that I have so can't compare with anything else.
Replacing the battery is also a little cumbersome. Kind of difficult twisting the back off to replace the battery but you kind of have to expect it with the device being so small.

Very helpful product with some reservations.

First of all, let me state that this is my first tracking device so I cannot compare to any others. All may have similar issues but I cannot comment on that. My phone is a Samsung Note 5, 2 years old. That said:
First, the really good: Customer Service. They are instantly responsive, 24/7 via chat, and when asked, send a transcript of your chat to your email if you want to save it for future reference.
Second, the good, but not wonderful. I really need this kind of thing because I misplace things around the house frequently. When TrackR works, it works great. When I first set it up about a week ago, I used one TrackR. Perfect. Next day I connected 4 other items and it didn't work at all. The app would show on the map where the item was last known to be, but couldn't connect even if it was right next to me. Customer service (via chat) gave me the steps to unpair and reset all the TrackRs - a bit of a pain, but it worked well, for a while. Within a day, same problem. I then tried to check the status of the connection with my phone's bluetooth, and found I was no longer paired. So I turned off bluetooth, then back on to search, and connections were restored. So far, so good.
Distance is not so good but is most likely a function of bluetooth being blocked by structures within the house. Even tho I wish my TrackR would connect and ping the device from anywhere, it is still extremely useful even if I need to walk around the house a little bit. That's far better than not being able to find the darn wallet, for example, only because it is hidden under a stack of papers.
I also got a low battery warning today for one of my TrackRs which I have in my wallet. It's only been there for a few days, so if it is truly a low battery then that's not a good sign. If there is an issue with the battery next to the magnetic strips on credit cards and the like, then it's not going to be a good solution for the wallet.
Battery replacement: great that you can do it, but the video they show is a little misleading. I have dry skin and could not generate enough friction to open the battery. I solved the problem with a small piece of masking tape to grab the back of the TrackR to open it. I would also suggest that you should use a magic marker and put a mark on the top of the back before you open it because it must go on in exactly the same position or it won't close and latch properly, and the manufacturing marks on the plastic are too subtle to see (at least for an older guy like me) without a magnifying glass. It was really frustrating until I took those steps. The video makes it look like a breeze but only if your hands are sticky enough to create the needed friction and only if you reinstall the back EXACTLY the way it was. Even tho this sounds obvious, the video does not indicate the need to do so. This is not a threaded connection, but rather small tabs that fit in a slot and then twist about 1/8 turn to lock. Very easy IF you get the tiny tabs in the tiny slots. (I suspect when I was younger and had my 20/15 vision this would not have been an issue.

Pixel has helped me find my misplaced stuff
Dave<M✓ Verified Purchase•July 28, 2023
I can attest these Pixels will help you find something you misplaced. What you are looking for must be close by since the devices connect to your phone via Bluetooth. The app will also tell you the last location when you phone was near to the Pixel. Keep in mind that you need to keep the app open all the time if you want this feature to work.
I recommend testing all your Pixels about once per month as the batteries have somewhat limited life. However, you can hit a button in the app or contact customer service and they send you a free battery replacement.
Also, I have had malfunction where one of my Pixels stopped working. They sent me a replacement Pixel. After about 1 year of use, I now have another Pixel malfunctioning. Customer support sent me a long list of troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. I'm assuming their going to send me another replacement.
So, in summary, I love using these to find something that I misplaced. However, sometimes the hassle of frequent battery swaps and now 2 Pixels malfunctioning makes me wonder if these are really worth the trouble.
