This is the radio that has everything - high quality build, ability to use with GMRS repeaters (when programmed), and an incredible Group feature that lets tactical teams on different frequencies share an important update. For Search and Rescue, you'll likely have more than one team in the field, and this feature provides immediate access to all teams. In terms of features, ease of use, and quality of materials, this blows all other FRS/GMRS walkie talkies away. If you don't have a repeater, this little gem has a detachable antenna compatible with many ham antennas that share the same frequency range, (available on Amazon) and it has good signal and reception right out of the box. Please be aware that ALL walkie talkies advertise their line-of-sight range, so when you're in an urban or hilly environment, don't expect 2.5 miles through wood, metal and concrete buildings, or through a hill. I bought a magnetic mount antenna for the roof of the car (which turns the car into part of the antenna) - but be sure if you do that you buy one that has a SMA (Sub Miniature-A) connection, many aftermarket antennas have a PL-259 connector, which can only be used with an adapter. Have to give top rank (I'd give 6 stars if I could) to their Customer Service as well - I was interested in replacement batteries (soon to be available separately, I'm told) and every e-mail I sent was responded to within 24 hours, usually a fraction of that. Only caveat - and this is not a minus - to use all features you need to program the channels you need, which requires a USB cable and your laptop. The software is free on the SANCON (not SAMCOM) website. Note: I got my radio as part of a group buy for our CERT group, so Amazon may not show me as a verified buyer, but I am a happy owner!

love these walkie talkies. my family and I use them when we go on trails rides on the four wheelers. they make it a lot easier having the ear piece. this company also shipped very fast.

These are so nice! They are lightweight but built with quality. The box includes everything you'd need, including a belt clip and ear pieces. It took about 5ish hours to charge them the first time and I haven't needed to charge them since but I suspect probably about 5 hours each time. The whole walkie talkie goes on the included charger so I don't have to take anything apart. Super easy to charge and use. My kids use them around the neighborhood, the range is very wide. I keep one at home and give one to the kids. They sound clear and haven't had any user issues. Perfect for what I needed.

We use these for camping. Everyone. Has their own. Our last ones were left outside and got ruined in the rain. We've been testing distance and clarity on this set before ordering more. They are easy to set up and use. Just to make sure that everyone stays in range so they can
either help or call for help. We all have first aid bags for minor injuries. They always get used but the last few days of our last trip I was a little on edge along with the other moms since the rain ruined them. There were a few that were in the tents. The kids talk to each other before they fell asleep and some parents just use it to tell the kids to stop playing and go to bed. About 6 were saved. We could not get the last ones again but these should do the trick. Other campers that we camp with are trying them out before we order more. The kids can use the ones that survived in their tents but the rest will be replaced so we can all be on the same channels if there is an emergency.

It's a little early to say these will be the ones we go with but it's looking good. I would recommend these. We have to have a unanimous vote. We still have 4 more families to try it out before purchasing more but every family so far has said yes.

These have a headset and belt clip that can be used the headset is something we didn't have before. The belt clip is another bonus. Our last set the belt clip was not secure like these and over time they would wear out and break off.

I don't think any other walkie talkies will work as well as this new set! I'm ready to buy the others.

This is WONDERFUL walkie talkies sound quality is fantastic even far the way and you can easy communicatie between them . Very professional feel and great quality. Recommend!!!
