I was a telephone tech back in the day. We used this for fishing walls and all kinds of uses. Back then it was called "waxed rayon". It is very waxed like the string we used. It is relatively stiff and does not stretch. It won't break easily either. Other less expensive string does not compare.

Nice twine but the wax is somewhat sticky, actually helps keep it in the eye of the needle by folding it without tying a knot, but does work well!

I've had a roll of this string for 20 years and finally ran out. The strength of the twine is outstanding.
Seems to hold a knot good.

I used the polyester cord to suspend bird netting over my blueberry bushes. I used a double overhand sliding loop, so I could adjust the tension into eye screws in a perimeter fence. The wax on the string gave the knot enough resistance to keep the twine tight, but allowed adjustment. Time will tell how well the twine holds up in the sun. I tried connecting two lengths with a sheet bend, but it kept slipping apart. So, I tied a square knot with a couple of half hitches on the outsides of the knot and it didn't slide apart.
