The items seem fine and well built. The problem was all items were shipped without any packing material. When I opened the box, there parts and pieces everywhere. The cap on the bottle if leather softener had loosened and half the bottle had leaked all over everything. It took me an hour to clean it up and put everything back together. The screws and nuts had come off. I would have returned everything as is but I am hiking today and needed to stretch my shoes last night. I would at least like a new bottle of leather softener. I would say this was an Amazon error not the product manufacturers fault.

Can't stand to have my toes squeezed. Wear wide size 11. If I can't find an 11w I use these stretchers. May have to let them stretch for a couple of days--but they work. I'd spend the money and buy them again if necessary.

This is an unsolicited comment. I bought these to stretch out some high-end hiking boots that I bought for an upcoming trip to Iceland. Product arrived two days sooner than expected in perfect condition. They are well-built, robust, high-quality plastic and metal construction and can take a lot of "cranking" to get them into the shoe/boot and exert a lot of pressure if required. I would estimate that if you over-torqued them you could probably strain the stitching they are so tough. They come with toe and instep plugs to precisely form the shoe to your exact desired fit. I paced them in my boots overnight without using any stretching fluid and the next day they were perfect! Well worth the price.Thank you Halcent.

I had owned couple cheaper versions previously but didn't work and had to purchase something more solid. very happy with these pair. I always read negative reviews before purchasing anything and as the comments said large ones didn't quite touch toe to heel, I purchased Large first. Big mistake. Large, was indeed too big and didn't fit in women's size 8 shoes at all. I had to reorder a small one and it's the right size as was described for the product. I've used it so far on couple of my shoes, it works very well, opens as wide as I need it and also expands the length as far as I can turn the knob. Very satified.

I learned there was this kind of shoe tree exist when I was shopping for a new pair of dress shoes. I bought these right after I got home. they worked very well. my new shoes were stretched out bigger after I put the stretchers in them for one night.
