Perfect for the job intended

I bought this to use on my wife's 1998 ML 320....and it's perfect for the job. As it's sized to fit multiple vehicles, in my application about 1 ft. protrudes from the filler tube when taking a measurement....which is probably a good thing since you are not supposed to leave it in when driving. It's reasonably rugged, inexpensive and does the job so I'm satisfied. The ATLIN company that provided it sent email instructions as well as the printed instructions that came with it, and they seem really anxious to provide good customer service so I give it 5 stars.

Worked great. Good value has instructions included. No need to buy lock tabs. Just snap off top and push down with small flat blade screwdriver. After checking level simply insert tab from top and leave flush with top of cap. It won't move

Arrived promptly as expected. Weaves around itself easily for storage. One thing I didn't like was how the measuring part of the dipstick is plastic and can be easily bent if you go too far down the fill port, which would be easy since when it bottoms out, about a good 10-12" of the dipstick sticks out of the top of the fill port. This is all covered in the instructions so it really didn't make me want to rate it less than five stars. Works just as well as the 80 dollar Genuine Mercedes Tool. Just have to practice a little to get a good feel of where it bottoms out.

I've never seen the actual factory Mercedes tool, but this worked perfectly for changing the fluid on the 5G-Tronic transmission in my Jaguar XJR. Easy to use, easy to read, and priced right. The whole DIY job was not difficult, this was the final piece I needed to save a substantial sum of money. $100 in parts (including this tool) saved me $300 at the dealership. I may never use it again, but it was still well worth buying.
