I purchased this for a Great Gatsby themed evening and I am so glad that I did. I received so many compliments from everyone there including the actors. It fit exactly as I wanted. I did not turn it backwards as I felt that wearing as it was intended was much more period specific. I can see myself wearing it for other non 20s themed events too.
It was Perfect for a party in Paris

This dress was perfect in every way. It fit as expected. I am 5'10 and ordered a tall. I bought it for a trip to Paris with my Dad for one of his friends epic Birthday parties. We were at Maxims and i wanted something Art Deco. This was in 2019. I am now going to another one of his friends parties, Art Deco theme. I ordered it another color and may end up wearing this one again because the green is beautiful. It held up well for dancing. There were people in $2000 dresses at this party and I got so many compliments on my dress I ordered off Amazon. It does have a little stretch.
AMAZING

I decided to wear this dress backwards with the V in the front instead of in the back. I did use "dress tape" to keep the dress in place at the top.
I received SO MANY compliments. The fit was amazing and was perfect in length for me
(I am 5'3ish)
I honestly can't believe that no one was wearing this dress at the party!

Amazon knows what I want! This came up as a suggested item and I thought "that is cute but I have no reason to buy it." Then I was invited to a 1920s fundraiser! #destiny I love the sequins and the shape is so flattering. Only part I didn't like is that it was a little short on my 5'7" frame. I prefer long dresses to touch the floor and this one did not. But! I got so many compliments on this dress! Easy to dance and move in and it wasn't too tight or too hot
Beautifully made dress; torso too long

I ordered the x-small in purple. For reference, I am 5'1", 116 pounds with a small, high waist and small chest. This dress is beautifully made--fully lined and comfortable. The sequins and tiny irridescent seed beads are sewn on after the dress is assembled, and the pattern is sophisticated and not cheap-looking. The outer layer of cloth is a transparent mesh, which is not my favorite, but with the trim, it looks fine and seems reasonably sturdy. This has a side zipper, and unfortunately, it is tricky to wriggle into.
I had some fit and style issues, mainly due to being a gently-curved hobbit. This dress is cut with a very high neckline and long torso, both of which look terrible on me. I ended up wearing the dress backwards. This actually works quite well if you want a dangerously plunging neckline, like a Hollywood star. I solved the long torso and plunging neckline problem by tailoring about two inches on each side of the shoulders-- this shortened the whole torso and brought the neckline up. I also stitched about an inch up the neckline to close it up a bit more. The dress was quite flattering and much more fitted this way.
Length-wise, after my modifications and with heels, this swept the floor but was wearable without hemming.
I like the skirt on this dress -- the mermaid styling is accomplished by gores added to either side of the skirt, which is far nicer than I expected. The beads add a lot of weight and sweep to the material. I did have problems with the beads near the zipper snagging and coming loose. I ended up stitching them back down and trimming loose thread loops to tidy this up.
This dress is a good value.
