The pulleys on my garage door had been groaning quite a bit, so I decided to change them out (good thing, too, because when I took the old one off the bearings were almost falling off). I found these pretty easy to work with - they work with a variety of cable sizes (I think the cable on my door is 1/8" or maybe even smaller). As another reviewer noted, there's no grease in the bearings on these pulleys when you first get them, so I recommend adding some (I used "00" type grease that you would put into a gear box as it's pretty heavy but also moves pretty freely). So far they've been working without complaint for about 1-2 months now.

My garage door pulley was making a lot of noise because of the center bearings broke. Perfect replacement for my garage door with a 4 inch pulley. Home Depot and Lowes only carry 3 inch pulleys in stock. Nice and quiet now.

Replaced all the rollers at the same time when replacing the old springs. These guys seem to work well. It's been about a month since replacing all these parts.

OK. I can't speak for how this works as a garage door pulley. However, I used it to make my own barn door hardware and it worked perfectly. I am running it in top of a track I made from 1/8" x 2" steel plate I also bought on Amazon. The whole thing worked great. The garage door pulleys look really nice and seem plenty robust. I compared these to what came with my garage door and they look comparable. I would say they are a good buy as garage door pulleys and a great buy as barn door hardware.
