Absolutely Wonderful Kit for Potty Training!

We started trying to potty train our daughter when she turned 2 years old. She is now 3 and still very stubborn. We have tried a slew of incentives for her to go tee tee in the potty instead of in her big girl panties. I came across this adorable little kit and thought she would love getting to wear a crown. When it came in, it came in a cute little box that was well presented. Love the ribbon that holds the front two flaps of the box together. I made a big deal of of each of the pieces to my daughter from the magnets to the crown and getting to wear the crown. I told my daughter that she would get a star if she tee teed on the potty and when she got two rows of stars, she would get to wear the crown and then again after another 2 rows when she filled all 5 rows, she would get a special prize and get to wear the crown. We started this last Friday (have been doing it a week now) and in that time, she has had maybe four accidents. She has tried so hard to get those stars on the chart! This worked like a charm for us! I would highly recommend to anyone even if you haven't tried other methods of potty training.
**Update, we have been using this for a good month now and have gotten her 99% potty trained. There are days where she is stubborn and just pees her pants, on those days, the first time she just gets a warning and then if she does it again, we take a star away, she then goes back to being a big girl and using the potty most of the time. In that time, the chart ended up with some minor damage in the bottom corners from my daughter jumping in puddles with it in her hand. The stars have some minor scratches because it travels from nana's house to ours every day. The crown has held up beautifully. Still highly recommend to any parent that has a daughter who is being stubborn about being potty trained!

Great Potty Training Starter

We've been so far unsuccessful at moving our daughter completely out of diapers with this product even after several weeks. I don't blame the product for that. Our daughter just seems to be so preoccupied with playing and comfortable enough in just going in her pull ups that she often doesn't let us know she has to go. I think we may have to go cold turkey on the pull ups and diapers and just do a 3-day boot camp with her. But what this product did accomplish is to introduce our daughter with the concept of identifying when she actually has to go and going to the potty and make it something that is fun and exciting instead of scary. We now have a regular potty schedule where she actually insists on going. The downside there is that she sometimes doesn't have to go on schedule, but refuses to get up from the potty without earning her stars.
Worth every penny

The book is a little flimsy as some have stated, but the system is great. If your child loves stars, stickers and pink crowns, surely this will help you. Best of luck. You should also check out Potty Training in 3 Days. It's the best book on the subject. My daughter was potty trained with no problem at 2. About 8 months after the fact, she had a bout of constipation that made her deathly afraid of the potty. I read and tried just about everything on the subject and came across this little system. It's so perfect. The first night we used it she was so eager to get stars. She keeps asking about the princess crown and we read the book and remind her that after 7 stars in a row, she can wear the crown. It's been 3 days with no poop accidents so I would call that a success. What's better is that she no longer seems afraid to sit on the potty which was our biggest hurdle (we also had to use laxatives but that's a different issue for you to discuss wit your Pediatric experts if your child has this same problem of poop withholding especially after already potty trained)
Perfect for the little pink potty training princess in your life

The princess potty training set is a great tool and my 2 year old loves it. I love that the chart is magnets rather than stickers which allows it to be larger print, small hand friendly and reusable week after week. The colors and pieces that are included with the set are beautiful and perfect for little girls that love pink. My daughter enjoys the book and shows off the crown any time she has a chance to wear it.
We hang the potty princess chart over the toilet roll bar so she can add the stars herself and we keep the book close enough to the bathroom that we can grab it and read it while we wait for her business.
Obviously this is s set definitely geared to little girls, colors, main character, theme, etc; but if you have one of those self made ultra pink loving princess ladies in your life- this is really perfect.
We love being able to celebrate the small victories with her; and the set rewards every step of the potty process. I can't speak to the correlation between potty training success and use of the chart as we've only just begun and it is our first go at it; but I can say she looks forward to her stars and asks to read the book.
The only "downsides" if they can be called such are that because the book and chart pieces are quality cardboard; the edges are firm but NOT rounded. I've encountered some board books like this- it's not a major issue and doesn't usually cause any boo boos; but I do typically prefer slightly rounded edges on these types of materials as they can be quite sharp.
Overall- I totally recommend this set without hesitation.

Super cute, good tips, mixed results with our particular toddler

My kiddo enjoys earning her stars and we've filled up the chart - with every row except actually using the potty. That was always the problem for my toddler, she loves being a big girl and taking off her training pants, sitting, wiping, flushing, washing up...just doesn't actually go. The book went over about as well as any other book, she likes it but not a huge deal for her considering how many books she has, even though we went to the trouble of making a huge production about her book, chart and the reward. She's definitely not interested in the crown which is likely more an issue of her having several little tiaras and crowns that came from various dress up costumes and birthdays through the years. She likes it, sure, but it was a very muted reaction of 'oh, another crown, ok' haha so there hasn't been much of an incentive for her to really fill up her chart to get to wear it. All in all the system is very cute and I was really pleased by the quality, just for my particular child and her progress (all the steps learned, just not put into real practice) it wasn't the breakthrough I'd hoped it would be. Hopefully it will be more useful with other siblings down the road. I'd advise anyone to try this but if your kiddo is already owner of a bunch of crowns and princess accessories, this may fall a touch flat. We finally just moved off the crown as the reward and bought a bunch of little toys and dollar store treats so if/when she uses the potty she can rummage through a surprise box and get a prize.
