I have used the yeti lid with the straw before and I loved it. I received it quickly and it is just what I wanted.

My mother-in-law ("Grandma") is elderly and regularly dehydrated because she won't drink water. She has resisted for a very long time because she told us she doesn't like the taste of water. When we probed deeper, we learned that what she really doesn't like is lukewarm water. As soon as we came to that revelation, I JUST KNEW the Yeti Tumbler was the answer. Together with the tumbler, I bought the replacement straw and lid for her ease and that was the trick! We fill up the tumbler with a few ice cubes and water in the morning, and she sips away at it throughout the day--marveling at the fact that the ice cubes are still intact after so many hours! She drinks a full tumbler of water each day now. She loves the color we bought for her (white) and keeps it close by. I have the same tumbler on my desk at work. I load it with coffee in the morning and it still is HOT at lunch time--if there is any left. Then, I fill it with ice and water for the afternoon and it's still cold at 5 pm. I love this product and highly recommend it!

The lid fits perfectly on the 20 ounce YETI tumbler, just like the MagSlider that came with my YETI tumbler. The MagSlider lid is difficult to drink from and the slider presses on my nose, which is why I bought this. However, I do not like the wide straw. The interior width, which is about 7.5 mm, is perhaps suitable for milkshakes and smoothies, but I do not like it for drinking regular liquids like iced tea or soda; it takes more effort to draw the liquid into the mouth and it comes in at lower pressure. Also, the thick plastic adds extra dimension to the total diameter, which feels awkward in my mouth. I have ordered a set of these stainless steel straws: YIHONG Set of 8 Stainless Steel Straws Ultra Long 10.5 Inch Drinking Metal Straws For Tumblers Rumblers Cold Beverage (4 Straight|4 Bent|2 Brushes) which are only 6 mm across the exterior diameter, so the whole stainless steel straw should fit easily into the interior of the plastic straw that comes with this lid. It would be nice if there were an option for a narrower plastic straw for regular liquids, or if such a straw would be included also.
Update: I received the stainless steel straws mentioned above, and while they are okay (I prefer the straight ones), they are a bit narrow. What I really want is a straw in between the width of the plastic straw of this tumbler lid and the narrower stainless steel straws--that would be perfect, but I guess the straw that comes with this lid is probably more omni-usable.
