Pretty, but tastes like stale chips! Read!

I will start off by stating that these flakes have absolutely no flavor except maybe dirt or like stale chips but even with out the salt. I expected it to be sweet, but it still worked and it does make the cake absolutely gorgeous. It is messy and takes time to place. Good news not a single person complained at the party but then again who would call out on the cake decorater when it is undetectable along side the sweet buttercream icing. I say if your cake is super sweet it is fine for this edible decoration to be flavorless.

I used one and 3/4 of the next box of flakes to cover my top tier. Its two small 8 inch cakes. Went on really well, placed on fresh buttercream and it held really well. Had some tiny little spots where you could see the white buttercream, next time I have to tint the buttercream closer to the color.
So at first when you try it, there isn't a flavor but then you get a hint of mint. So not sure why, if its made of chocolate, why it has that flavor. Other than that, the flakes were awesome!

The containers are very small but a little goes a long way. This is 1.5 containers on a 5 layer 9 inch round layer cake. I purposely have space between the flakes but 2 containers would have been enough if I were more detailed in how I put these on.
These basically taste like paper. Most of my guests didn't eat them. They don't dissolve in your mouth. They chew and taste like a piece of paper in your mouth so after a few bites, you get smart and scrape them away. However, for decorative purposes, these are amazing and I would 100% use them again. They are so cool looking on your cake.

Worked well for what I needed. Easy enough to apply, pretty. It took two packages for 2- 8" round cakes stacked. As far as eating, I was not a fan of the texture. I definitely scraped it off the cake before eating.

These rose gold flakes were really beautiful. I read the reviews before I purchased them and was worried about the chemical smell/taste that others had talked about, but I wasn't planning on COATING anything with them, so they were perfect. They smell a little and basically taste like cardboard, and I could see that being an issue if you were wanting to coat a cake. But for sprinkling purposes, the taste and smell were virtually unnoticeable.
I made 100 cupcakes and a 6" layer cake and I ordered two containers of the flakes bc I wasn't sure on the coverage. I used maybe 3/4 of one container, and I did crush them up a little bc there were some very large flakes, and I didn't want any too big.
The bride & groom were very impressed!
