Great
Low intensity vibration.
Anthony M Agostino•May 18, 2018
The first problem I missed was that the end is not a plug-in it's some 4-way prong that you have to cut off and adapt. Then the motor is very low intensity. This has the power of a personal massager. If that is what you want. I put it on a sieve. It would not vibrate a single shovel of dirt. The variable speed control that Amazon recommended as commonly purchased together did not work with it for variable speed control.
Works great with sandblasting cabinets to keep the media from spreading out wide and shallow.
John D. Hanig•March 14, 2018
I got one of these for an unusual purpose: I have a sandblasting cabinet where the media tends to stack up in the front righthand corner. I wanted something to keep it shook down to the center of the hopper. This is perfect for that.
I just wired in a conventional AC grounded 3 prong plug to replace the terminal it came with (for bed use, I'd assume.) There are four wires within the cord, a black, white, green/yellow, and a red. I contacted the seller and learned the red wire isn't connected inside the motor so it can be safely ignored. So the green/yellow wire is the ground, the white is the neutral, and the black is the hot.
I plugged it into a power strip and just used the strip's switch to turn this on and off. I use the same switch for a small shop vac and for the internal lights, so when I turn it on, everything comes on at the same time. Perfect. Anyway, I turned on the motor and held it to the outside of the hopper in different places and decided high in the middle is ideal. I ended up with a cone of sandblasting media right in the center of the hopper, right where the pickup tube is buried. I couldn't be more pleased.
The motor makes a little noise but it's relatively low pitched and I didn't find it loud or annoying. Anyway, assuming this holds up, I could not be more pleased with mine.
