Just started using these for my fermented salsa. These are nice because you can easily grab them and do not have to use a spoon to pull them out of the jar. They work well to keep the vegetables below the brine.

These are great fermentation weights. They are nice and solid and hold down your ferments perfectly under the brine. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the little knob handle. While it's a great idea to make it easier to remove the weight, the design is flawed. The handle is ever-so-slightly tapered towards the top, and when submerged in brine (or is wet in general), it becomes slippery. I lose my grip and end up having to either tip one end or use a utensil to dig out the weight, defeating the purpose of the handle. It would be better if the handle were ridged or threaded, or had a "mushroom cap" or T-type shape so you can keep your grip while pulling the weight out. I need another set but am hesitant to purchase this again because of this flaw. If they can fix the handle design, these weights would be perfect.

Very well packed and nicely made...I thought they maybe could have been a bit heavier, but this is my first experience with weights and fermenting so I could be totally wrong !!
