When I shave my head, I'm a 7 1/2" hat size. When I have hair, I can still wear 7 1/2", but it's snug. This XL fits me perfectly with hair. The slightly elastic band helps it stay put unlike another brand's linen cap. I don't think it'll fit any larger than a 7 5/8" hat size.

The hat's construction is first rate; stitching is tight; the quilted lining is very warm during cold weather and the wool material is first class. The size my hat was medium, I wear a 7-1/4, and is slightly smaller than it should be for it's size. I'd recommend ordering a one size larger for better comfort. It is priced very competitively and the traditional frontal center snap brim is very authentic (I have an original from an antique store in my hat collection). The only styling flaw is the height of the crown which is to flat; there should have been a greater height than there is. Overall, it is a great hat for the price.
