How good are these; I don’t know if they can be improved any more!

We've invested in steel shelving over our forty plus tears of marriage and we're helping our children do the same. What an amazing improvement. All you need is a rubber mallet to put these together. If you don't have one, a hammer is fine. But I'd protect the nice finish by using a thick rag over the piece you are hammering. I'm amazed how practical these were packaged. Less is more and as large as these shelves are, they were delivered with a minimum of cardboard with maximum protective strength.
The shelving is reinforced with additional wires bracing the shelves horizontally. The joining brackets were easy to put on. In fact the entire unit was assembled by our daughter in less than ten minutes. Read the instructions or look carefully at the pics so you layout the bottom shelf brackets correctly.
We've come from slotted angle iron with cross bracing and shelves made of particle boards. And 8n those days you had to cut your own shelving. This is such an improvement.
Bad instructions + great shelves / well made.

You def need a rubber mallet :), I am glad we had one. Great shelves and def heavy duty. Putting the first one together took some time but looking at pictures from these reviews helped, and once i did one the next was a breeze. The instructions would be 100x better if they just included some close up pictures.
Nice shelving units but good luck on getting right parts

Shleving units themselves are nice. I ordered 2 of them. Its getting 3 stars due to fact 2nd unit has double the number of depth supports and zero of the legs. Whoever works in their packaging dept should be fired. Not that hard to put right oarts in a box. No wonder this country is going to hell.
I love these shelves

I love these shelves. A rubber mallet is the only tool you need. How easy is that. One tool.

Pros:
Product materials
â'£ The metal braces/shelves/ are made out of good quality metal.
â'£ The paint seems to be quite sound.
â'£ The parts come well packaged in a flat box that was easy to open.
â'£ I could not be happier. There are NO SCREWS/BOLTS/Little pieces to keep track of so no worries in losing critical parts.
Assembly
â'£ I am putting these together by myself & finding them relatively easy to assemble.
â'£ In fact, it's quite intuitive.
â'£ As someone mentioned, the first shelf is the trickiest if you're doing this by yourself.
â'£ What worked for me is to assemble the first shelf as 2 "Ls."
â'£ This includes 2 uprights & the short ends (18" bars) & one of the long braces.
â'£ Once you have completed those sections you can assemble front & back together.
â'£ Add the shelf & then you have a stable frame. It is even more stable once you assemble the 2nd shelf. I think the greatest challenge is figuring out what height to make each shelf.
â'£ Shelf-height: Someone did mention measuring to make sure your item will fit under the lip. This is a MUST-DO unless you want to take them apart once you get them together. I am following the advice to us zip ties on the shelves. Each shelf bracket has holes on either end for this
Con:
Product materials
â'£ I wish it had what I would call end caps for the L brace. I went to the Home Depot to see if they had generic

I've attached a drawing showing assembling 2 "Ls" first before combining together for the 1st shelf.
Best value on Amazon

I have bought a TON of stuff from Amazon and pride myself on finding great values. THIS is hands down the best find to date.

Replaced an older Wal-Mart shelf with this beast. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this unit considering the price. A unit of this quality at a big box store would cost upwards of $150. It has a very durable powder coat finish with galvanized wire shelves.

Recommendations:
-Use a rubber mallet (buy one if you don't have one). You have to hit them pretty hard to get them to seat all the way (makes them less likely to come out).
-Zip-tie the wire shelves to the cross-bars. There are holes in the cross-bars for this purpose and prevents sagging or shifting.
