Ok knife, but you get what you pay for.
Cons:
-Pocket clip is awful, the raised tip is the highest part, so it snags on everything and there is hardly any room for pants material between it and the knife.
-Detent is weak, the knife can be flicked open without the flipper tab. This has the effect of making the flipper tab not able to fully open the knife. The detent simply cant hold the blade in place until sufficient pressure is applied to the tab to ensure a full deployment. A little flip of the tab combined with a flick of the wrist gives good lockup though.
-Bearings are useless. I have adjusted and lubed the crap out of this thing, and i just feel like it would work better on washers. It will never "fall shut" or flip smoothly without loosening the pivot too much and introducing blade play.
-The machining and construction are pretty bad. Some hidden areas of my blade have chips missing and heat staining. This thing probably has a horrible heat treat/tempering on it.
-Slight recurve to the blade. (some people may call this neutral or pro, but for some one who hand sharpens their knives on waterstones, this is a HUGE con)
neutral:
-The steel is meh. Perfectly fine to break down cardboard or open plastic packaging, but i would not expect the edge to survive any kind of hard use. The other blades I have experience with are hitachi white, hitachi blue, vg10, s30v, s35vn, 154cm, 440c, victorinox stainless, and dexsteel (dexter russell's stainless). I feel like this one falls in with the low quality steels like 440c and dexsteel. It's not even close to to the more midrange stainless steels like vg10, or victorinox.
-its kinda thick. 16mm from side to side, not including the pocket clip
pros:
-The G10 feels and looks good.
-Decently sharp out of the box (able to cut hair). This knife came with a better grind than my Benchmades and ZTs (albeit on a much inferior steel). But not even close to my Shuns.
-Looks like a Shirogorov!
Final decision: 3 stars for overall quality. Could be worse, could be better. You get what you pay for.

Good looking knife

The EF33 is a pretty good knife. I was expecting it to be a little bigger, but it was a good size for EDC. Upon first inspection the knife had a slight grinding noise when flipping it open, but it seemed to go away after opening and closing it a few times. It flipped open nice and smooth and was easy to open and close one handed. I really liked the handle and the material its made of. Its comfortable in hand and doesn't feel like it will slip out of your hand when using it. The blade came shaving sharp and it had a strong lock up. The biggest problem I had with it was closing the liner lock. For me the liner is small and sharp so it wasn't very comfortable to close. Not a big deal, but it was pretty much my only gripe with this knife. The knife seemed to be good quality, but I cant say for sure how long it would hold up. I ended up sending it back because it was smaller than what I was wanting, and because of the liner lock. Overall I think this is a good knife for the price, and it will make a stylish EDC.
Great price. Great knife. Glad to own it.

I was hesitant to buy this not really knowing a whole lot about Eafengrow, but I am glad I made the choice to purchase this knife. This knife is comparable to $100 + knives that I have owned. It opens smooth without accidentally opening out on its own. It stays in place until you deploy it. The finish on the handle has a very nice texture that doesn't allow your hand to slip off very easily. The jimping on the top part of the blade and the flip tab are comfortable and are a great added touch. Knife came razor sharp.
Hard to open & close

Bad:
- Very hard to open, hurts finger tips to depress lever
- Frame lock is hard to grab, too recessed into frame & is angled so that fingers slide off it (needs to be higher & have some higher friction finish for fingers to grab onto)
- No jimping on top of knife itself (jimping on blade is fairly far forward).
- very greasy when received, but mechanism still feels scratchy (was all the grease applied to the metal not part of the joint?)
Good:
- nice scales
- secure blade
- level doesn't stick out too far when open

Impressive knife. Blade was centered and sharp enough to shave. Grinds are good, even and symmetrical. Jade G10 is attractive and textured enough to have grip but not tear up your pockets. Clip works well, goes in and out of the pocket easily, especially for a new knife.
Blade flips open, quick enough for me since I do not fidget with my knifes. Probably will smooth out more with use. Already suits me fine. Detent is excellent, fires open with the light switch method yet keeps the blade securely in the handle when folded. Locks open early at about 30 percent. Feels securely locked and no blade play that I can feel.
Good knife, especially for the low price. Recommended and my second Eafengrow. I will buy more.
