Great for the Left-Handed, Right-Handed not so much

I love the pattern on this bag and couldn't resist trying it out! I was hoping it could be a replacement for a larger back-pack for me.
The Pros: It fit everything I usually carry, wallet, cosmetic case, small gadget pouch, multiple sets of keys, cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) in a Trident Aegis case (the lower outside pocket worked fine for it.) My Kindle or Fire 8 fit fine. I stuck a collapsible umbrella in and it fit, too. It holds an amazing amount. A trade paperback or a hardcover I'm sure would fit as well. The canvas fabric seems sturdy but not stiff. I would not use it in the rain, though.
The Cons: I cannot hang it off my right shoulder, only my left. If I want to carry it on my back, the strap has to be on my right shoulder which feels weird. If you want to pull it around under your left arm to take something out of the larger main compartment it works ok, but the smaller compartment isn't accessible because everything in it would fall out. So I guess you take it off to get to that stuff? It just seems really awkward to me. Also, because it's canvas and rope it doesn't slide easily around. Probably the polyester Sling Bag version would work better for that, but it's also only left- oriented, unfortunately.
I think I will be returning this bag. My Ameribag HBB holds just as much and is usable on either shoulder.

It was perfect for trips off the ship at ports

I purchased this bag for our Disney cruise last month. It was perfect for trips off the ship at ports. I don't know what I would have done without it on Castaway key. It was the perfect size for all of my essentials (sunscreen, camera, hairbrush and leave in conditioner and phone) and I could even stuff my cover up in there if needed. The only down side is the price. I purchase this because I heard such great things, and while it was pretty great and met all of my needs, I am fairly certain I am paying more for the brand than the bag. I still love it though and will use it for short day trip type uses.
Oh, and all of the prints are adorable!!

Wrong shoulder side, material needs to be more sturdy, pockets could be improved

I really really wanted to love this bag. I bought this for an upcoming European trip where I needed to carry tourist guides, stuff for the kids, snacks and daily medication for one person in our party. I'll start with the pros.
It's affordable. It's cute. It has a decent amount of space and can fit an 8x11 folder. And the strap is sturdy. (I bought the one with the owl pattern).
Now with the cons (and there are a few, but I really think that with improvements, this could be a great bag). This bag is worn on the right should only, which is not very ergonomic for a right handed person. When you put the bag on your shoulder, the motion is counterintuitive for a right handed person, and restricts your right should. Your could wear it on your other should but the bag would not fall flat on your bag. This is a huge con for me, as I started to get serious shoulder and rib pain one week into our trip and had to stop wearing it altogether.
While the pattern is cute and the material is of reasonable quality, it is not ideal for this type of bag. This should be made of a more durable material, such as laminated canvas. It is not protected when it rains, and it gets stained easily as soon as it touches the floor (my bad was constantly sandy from the crushed stone in French parks).
Lastly, I find the pockets just ok. The middle pocket with a velcro is not big enough for a cell phone (and nor would I put a phone in there- it would be prime for stealing). It does fit well in the zipped up one though. The two side pockets are of decent sizes, but not very deep and I wish they had other compartments inside, especially to put keys and wallet. I created my own wallet holder with a hiking clip.
All in all, I might still use the bag every once in a while for very specific occasions where I need to have my hands free, but I suspect those uses will be few and far between.

Great, comfortable bag -- I love it so much I'm ordering more!

I love these bags so much that I've ordered a couple more with different colors/patterns (there are so many choices that it's hard to make a decision!).
I find these bags to be less of a hassle than shrugging into a backpack. Just toss it on crosswise on your body and you're ready to go. If I know I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, it's a lot more comfortable than having a purse hanging from my hand or from one shoulder since the KAVU rope bag distributes the weight better and leaves my hands free.
I think the construction and workmanship of the bag is very good. On the outside, it has two long zipper openings on either side and two smaller compartments also on the outside. On the inside of the largest zippered section, there's an interior zippered compartment (secure spot for passports!). While this KAVU bag isn't anywhere near as large as most backpacks, it still holds a good bit (phones, small tablets, wallet, snacks, water bottle, etc.).
One caution I would mention is that there could be some vulnerability to theft of its contents in crowded spaces since the zippered compartments fall around your mid-back out of your own view. We're just careful to be aware of those around us and in those rare cases of being packed like sardines in sketchy public spaces and transportation, I even rotate the bag around to my side or front to keep an eye on it.

I love this backpack! I had bought another sling backpack but returned it because it felt bulky and wasn't comfortable on my shoulder. This backpack is the opposite, very comfortable to wear and love the rope sling. I like how the company has so many different color varieties. I think it will withstand a lot of wear and tear. I plan on taking it to a trip to Disney soon. Also - It does hold an iPhone 7 plus phone in a case in the bottom zipper pocket.
