Garage kept, low mileage, Hyundai Kona Ultimate 2019 started to have a very musty mildewy smell from the AC vents during the summer. I have encountered this problem years ago in a VW Jetta VR6 which was solved with generous sprays of Lysol - unfortunately this did not work with the Kona. Two different dealers try to rid the smell by "cleaning" the vents and the evaporation unit / coil. Neither worked and total cost was over 200$ combined, so I figured I would try this. It took two applications, but it worked very well - so much so that even the "new car" smell started to come back! It's a great product. Follow the directions.

I did the typical searches in my vehicle to determine where the vinegar-like scent was coming from in my AC. I checked the filter and even got a camera in the vents to see if I could see some growth. After not finding anything and trying all the tips I came across, I finally decided to give this a shot. Worked perfectly and instantly. I'm assuming that I'll likely need to do this once or twice a year but it literally takes seconds to spray it, then just let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes with the windows open.

This product was suggested to me by a local Honda dealership after mice fouled the cabin air intake to my van. I cannot adequately describe the stench that came out when I turned on the air conditioner. Fearing health issues, I immediately turned it off, closed all the air vents, and drove with the windows open until I was able to locate and remove the nest and apply this product. All I can say is, it's miraculous. It works. It is a powerful disinfectant and it is important to take note of the label cautions, but it works. Best of all, it left only a light, clean scent of its own that dissipated fairly quickly. It's a little pricey, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

If your care is like mine and gets a musty/moldy smell once or twice a year then you have probably tried the same ideas that I found on the internet like spraying Lysol or Febreeze into the intake vents to disinfect and overcome the moldy smells. These products kind of work, but only mask the smell with stronger smells. Frigi-Fresh actually works to destroy the lingering bad odors without leaving a residual smell.
All I did was spay into the intake vents while the car A/C was running for about ten seconds and then let the car run for about 10 minutes. Afterward, the moldy A/C smell was gone and there was a slight odor from the cleaner. I just opened the car doors and let the car air out and all the cleaner smell dissipated pretty quickly. I even asked my wife to come out and do a smell test and she did not smell any cleaners which was a total win in my book. Frigi-Fresh worked prefectly for us!

I had a very strong vinegar and feet smell coming out of my ac in my car for nearly a year. After having my mechanic clean my ac drainage line we determined it's more likely mildew and mold in the intake. I purchased this and followed the instructions. Spray in the intake at the front of the car at the bottom of the windshield while the cars ac is on and running full blast. Let it go through for about four minutes and then shut the car off for ten to let it work its magic. The smell was gone within seconds of the initial spray.
There is no noticable scent added to the spray at all. I didn't find it to have a chemical smell nor any sort of added scent.
