It just arrived, earlier than expected, that is a plus. The carbon filter needed to run the hood ductless is not included. This review and $20 shipping is allowing me to order a one time only free filter kit. I can't add any more detail about product review (function, ease of use, etc.) until I use the hood...after I get the filters.

I ordered this hood for an installation in a summer home. I needed a hood that did not vent to the outside due to a second story and no access through a wall. I researched this unit and after purchasing it I am thoroughly satisfied with the unit. It was easy to install and the instructions were clear. Look forward to years of service.
Revised comments after Use for a week. THis Hood, while it looks very nice and is easy to install, is not worth the money. We installed it as a recirculating hood and it does not pull any steam or smoke up to the vent. The steam from a pot of water was not drawn to the hood at all. I put a piece of toilet paper up to the vent screens and it would not be held up at the screens at all. No suction. Don't buy this.

I purchased model COS-5MU36 as part of my kitchen facelift. I love the non-boxy look! It really softens the look of the kitchen. I've only used it once since I'm still in the midst of the facelift but it effectively cleared the area of an acrid smell. I would've given it 5 stars if the carbon filter wasn't so $#% hard to install!! This needs a serious redesign. It shouldn't be that hard to insert a part that requires regular changing.
It also appears that it is equally as hard to get the free gifts as it is to install the filter. I've submitted a review with pictures on their website twice and once by email. I'm getting emails stating they only have my form and not the review even though the form collects the review and the pictures. I should lower the review to 3 stars.

This product does the job of ventilation the stove smoke very well. With my old unit I would still have to open up my doors to not have the smell of food around the house. It is not too noisy and the lights are bright as well. The material that it's made out of is strong also.
