I love that these come preinstalled. These are a great price for the product. Birds started nesting under the under-side of my deck back in April 2021, I knocked down the nest before eggs were laid and put up the spikes and reflector tape, and birds did not come back near my deck at all immediately after installation.

The spikes are close together so birds can't form nests inside the spikes.

Through multiple storms and windy days, these spikes have stayed up there for over 2 months now and still no birds.

They work (maybe in combo with the flashing tape too"”which I got from Amazon for cheap).

I bought these to keep some obnoxious pigeons off of our roof. They are some domestic birds, quite beautiful, and like to visit our bird feeders. I don't especially have a problem with that. The problem was they like to perch on the edge of the roof. Then, instead of looking out at the view, they hang their tails over the edge, and the deck below suffers.

These were very easy to install. I was glad that I got the all metal ones, as I was installing them on very heavy asphalt shingles, which have a lot of irregular surfaces. I attached them with two stainless steel screws for each unit. Because of their light weight metal base, they were able to flex, and adapt to the shape of the roof. In fact, I was able to bend the first one, and have it drape over the peak of the roof, for a perfect fit. I don't think ones with a plastic base would have been nearly as adaptable. Also, these will not be aged by many years of sunlight, which is damaging to so many things.

I am extremely happy with these, and would recommend them.

When I first opened the box, they looked quite flimsy and weak. But they are pretty sturdy, They don't come with any screws so you have to nail them in place where you want to use them. I lined them up on my fence to keep away squirrels, birds and cats and to keep them from walking on the fence. The stainless steel seem to disappear from sight from a distance, so they don't look unsightly lined up on the fence.

We had barn swallows - very persistent ones - repeatedly trying to nest in our front entry way. I tried putting chicken wire, plastic bags, CD's, balloons, and flags without success. I saw these types of spikes being used at banks and other buildings in town, so looked into these. After much research, I settled on these for good reason: They metal strip can be easily trimmed to size with a tin-snip; the spikes can be bent to where you want them; and the product itself is very sturdy and well built. They have been installed for a little over a week, and I haven't seen a bird even get close to them. Hopefully the novelty won't wear off and the birds won't try to nest between the spikes, but so far, so good. These seemed better than the other ones I reviewed, and the price was very great. I would highly recommend them thus far!

I do not want to discredit this product; however, I purchased several to put in my peach tree to deter squirrels from eating the peaches before they ripened. These were hard to install in the tree even when using twist-ties to hold them to the branches, and the squirrels were smarter than the average bear (they found ways to maneuver around these spikes and easily got to the peaches regardless).
