Compatibility issues

The connectors on these Play 22 track pieces are slightly off from the IKEA set we have. We can't connect the IKEA male ends to the female play 22 ends. Our toddler is now very upset that the track "doesn't work" when building layouts.
I'm only giving it two stars because this track would be a decent value if you didn't need it to connect to another brand of track. They are rougher than any other brand we've seen, but not enough for a 2 year old to notice.
