I like the 2 zipper compartment. It allows me to store multiple items along with checkbook and cash money. I do wish it provided slots for picture id and credit cards. It was not a problem because I got a simple wallet that would hold my picture id and credit cards and have that in the bag. Also the shoulder strap is a plus because it frees up my hands when necessary. I like the cell phone compartment do not have to put my cell phone in my pocket.
