Bye Bye satellite service!

I finally got rid of my satellite service. Got too expensive and they became inflexible with take it or leave attitude.
I mounted this under th eaves where the satellite dis was. It is much smaller and clean looking.
You don't need to orient it to any specific direction. It's omnidirectional. Clean flying saucer shape. Very wind resistant, inherent in its shape.
My local stations are 20 to 25 miles away. I can get all of them in HD crystal clear resolution.
It's rated for more distance than my needs.

Simple to install and gets more channels than I anticipated. I got a J pole and installed outside and getting 39 channels (some are duplicate) and gets great reception. I just bought another for my mother in law to cut the cord for her and will install tomorrow. I liked mine enough to order another for my mother in law, so I would say I would recommend.
Update, got one in for my mother in law since she lost her Spectrum after going full digital. She had a hard time with the digital box and remote being near blind and old. Cut the cord and still have all channels she watched with cable and now saving around $100 a month without cable. Simple to install using a J Pole on side of house and sits above roof. Now thinking about doing same for my mom and another for me in my shop which is too far away to use cable and splitter.

Having the over the air tv is a plus. The old antenna was removed and this replaced it. Terrific investment with a smart tv to get the local news and basic programs...we get 40 channels.

The only issue I have with this is that the supplied amplifier uses RG59 which is hardwired internally to the amp. This is a problem because RG59 has not been used in the last decade when it comes to Coax cable, this probably degrades the overall potential this has.
That being said, I used a splitter and mounted this inside of an attic instead of outside like I do most antennas I install. It worked with good, not 100 percent pielation free, but good enough.

Installed this antenna about 25 feet up on an existing antenna mast. Easy hookup. In zone 32720 I picked up about 50 channels in the primary strength zone, of those about 10 religious and 4 spanish speaking. Haven't picked up any stations in the NW marginal quadrant yet. All channels received are sparkling clear in HD. Haven't decided to cut the cable yet. I wish I could get Discovery Channel OTA.
