We purchased these lanterns for a week-long camping trip. We were amazed at the quality and long-lasting nature of these little lanterns. Each took 3 AAA batteries which were easy to insert. We used one lantern in our tent and the other out on the picnic table at night. The lanterns are incredibly lightweight and hang from tent ceilings with ease (we clipped ours on with a carabiner.) They're also sturdy enough to remain on a table without falling over. The lanterns work by pulling the handle upward until the light is exposed. We pulled the handle about halfway open for tent light and all the way open for the picnic table and when walking to the bathrooms at night. The LED light these give off is a bright, white light (not a soft yellow light.). It was great for seeing in the dark and we were amazing at how bright they were. The best part was that we packed extra batteries expecting to have to reload each lantern midway through the trip, but we never even had to pull the batteries out of storage. Both lanterns lasted for 6 nights. They were definitely the hit of our camp and all of our friends wanted a set! These lanterns are a great value for the money. I will definitely be purchasing more as gifts for camping family and friends.

These are great lights. This is the 2nd set I bought for my son (he uses for camping, night fishing, hunting and more. Our power went out and gave great lighting (safer than candles too). I lie these, as they have the magnetic bottom.

I wanted to get a couple LED lanterns to put in the trunk of our vehicles and this two pack made doing so quite convenient. One of the great things about these is that there is no power button to fumble with in the dark, you just pull the lantern open and it automatically lights up. I had another LED light in the car but when my wife really needed it she couldn't figure out how to turn it on because there were multiple buttons and they weren't obvious and you had to hold it down for a couple seconds for it to work. With these it's no problem, just grab it and pull it.

These lanterns have handles that unfold so they can be hung up, as well as magnetic bases so the can be set on the car without sliding off. They can even be attached to the underside of the trunk door to give a lot more light than the dinky built in trunk light. They are powered by three AA batteries which unfortunately aren't included. I have a whole bunch of AA batteries I got a while back so I didn't mind, but if you don't have any make sure you factor this into your decision. I specifically wanted battery operated lanterns rather than USB rechargeable lanterns so that I could change out the batteries if needed without having to wait for it to recharge... and so that I could finally use some of the AA batteries.

The light these give off is pretty good. They're not as bright as another larger LED lantern I have and use when I got out in the backyard at night, but they are plenty bright enough for using in the car. These are called "Military Grade" in the title but they really don't feel like military grade to me. They're made of plastic and are lightweight, but if feels like if I were to accidentally drop one on the cement it would probably break. I'd expect something that called military grade to be coated in some kind of rubber to help protect it from bumps and drops. Of course, these are only $20 for the pair so even if one does break I wouldn't be too upset about it, but I would definitely lower my rating by at least one star, maybe two, simple because military grade typically indicates durability. So I guess we'll see.
