This canopy worked very well for us at the beach. As other reviewers have said, there are a few tricks to making it stable. First, stretch the sandbags out from the center of the canopy"”further than you think you should. Fill them with wet sand, if possible, and bury them. We brought a 48 oz aluminum ice scoop"”bought for $5 at a restaurant supply store. Use it to dig the hole to fill the sandbags, plop them into the hole you just dug, then cover them with sand. It's also important to face the higher opening in the direction the wind is coming from.
The carrying pouch is very handy, even coming with a cooler stitched into the side.
The quality seems great, we had no issues with the stitching or the grommets where the cords for the sandbags attach.
Takes us about 5-10 minutes to set up. We're really pleased with this product.

Won't stay up in the wind

After reading many reviews, we bought this tent for a beach trip in SC to keep our baby in the shade. We set it up in the morning before it got too windy and it did great. We bought the extra poles but it became apparent that the extra poles were not going to stay standing in the wind. Once the wind picked up around noon each day, this tent would not stay standing no matter we did. We tried everything, changing its orientation, leaning the poles, etc and watched online videos for help but it just couldn't stand up with any more than a breeze. We were so disappointed. It fell down one time while our baby was under it. Meanwhile, all the other tents around us were standing up without any trouble. I'm giving it two starts instead of 1 because it seems to be very well made and the sandbags are a great design. Would love to return this thing.

My girlfriend LOVES the sun. She's basically a plant and is fine just laying out and baking to death. While I feel like I'm going to die if I'm in direct sunlight for more than 5 minutes. This tent makes the beach enjoyable for both of us. I got it in black for added darkness beneath the shade and it works. Even in direct sunlight, the black fabric doesn't get too warm underneath because of the breeze and that it's SO DARK. Bring a nice low-to-the-ground pop-up chair and this thing will be your best friend.
I've only used it once so far but the day I went, the wind resistance was impressive. It wasn't the windiest day ever but it was windy enough to blow some other group's beach umbrellas around while ours stayed put. It's also the most unique shade at the beach. No one else had anything like the Neso, the closest I saw was the folding canopies people take camping. It got a lot of looks.
If you hate the sun but like the beach, this is for you.

Awesome tent. Held up to 20+mph winds. Just stretch it out, fill the sand bags and BURY the sand bags about a foot deep. Then set up the poles. The poles might need some adjustments to get it right

We have had a smaller Neso tent for a while, and honestly I was a bit nervous about the bigger version, thinking the taller poles might result in more problems with stability and wind resistance. On the contrary, the big version seemed even more stable and the extra height and coverage was great. After struggling with umbrellas with limited coverage and keeping "shelter" type tents staked and stable on the beach, we are sold on the Neso design. Any tent will have problems in strong beach winds but it's easy to adjust the poles to compensate, and when they do fall it is non-catastrophic.
I did order 2 extra poles, which I would recommend if you really want this to be a "tent" experience rather than a lean-to shelter.
