Great look, poor quality

These stools look great and are comfortable to sit on. The dark fabric cushions are exactly what I was looking for. They look smart without making your kitchen look like a pub. The aesthetics are unbeatable for the price.
But the quality is disappointing, even at the low price point. Two of my three stools teeter-totter slightly because of a high leg. One of them had severe defects in the wood of one of the footrests. I was fortunate that the defect was not in a load-bearing piece.
As many reviewers noted, assembly is not easy. The provided Allen wrench isn't the right tool to turn the screws that attach the legs because there isn't enough space to rotate the wrench fully. It is much easier and faster with a ratcheting wrench or screwdriver. Tightening the wood screws also requires a long, narrow Phillips bit, not provided, and either a very short drill/screwdriver or an angled drill adapter. A normal-sized drill/screwdriver is too long to fit between the legs on the narrow sides of the stool, where you need to tighten the wood screws.

These Backless Barstools are of excellent quality for the cost. I was extremely impressed with the stool. It is very sturdy, wood is true to color and good quality and the seat is very comfortable. I would not hesitate to order these stools. These were a perfect match for my kitchen set. ( I use them for extra seating and do not take up a lot of room so I can store them under my table) Nathan Home has outstanding customer service. I had a small mistake in my order and they went out of their way to satisfy me. There service was above and beyond any Company I have ever dealt with. If you are looking for this type of seating my word is order them now do not look any further.

Cute stools, but not super sturdy. Even when my husband tightened the screws down, the stool is just not designed as sturdy as others (but I would not say they are wobbly at all). The legs go straight down and don't flare out at all. That is what is causing it to not feel as sturdy (or easier to tip maybe) as other stools when we sit on them. I didn't even think about that when choosing the stools... I went more by the style and colors I needed. The stools were exactly as described. Out of 4, we had to use a rubber mallet on 1 to get the cross supports in the holes. Other than that, easy assembly. The gray fabric is neutral and goes perfectly with a Revere Pewter wall color and white kitchen cabinet.

Inexpensive and high quality don't usually hang out together "” well have a seat, because they do now. I was anticipating from 'oye' to 'meh' and what I got was 'whoa'. Solid, well-crafted wood, metal hardware you can't bend with your pinky fingers, SIMPLE and clear instructions (that are quite hilarious). And the narrow rectangular form factor is very sleek and handsome (not unlike some reviewers on Amazon).
