Quality Razor and Very Sleek

I got this for my boyfriend and he loves it. The razor is lightweight and easy to handle when he shaves. The look of it is also a great plus too! The razor itself is a work of art that helps shapes and sculpts my boyfriend's facial hair. At first he didn't like it, but I think he eventually got the hang of how to correctly shave with it and he loves using it now! SO much better than the regular razors for him. This seems like it'll last him a long time.
Closest. Shave. Ever.

The skin on my face is sensitive to the point where i got razor burn while using a cream designed for womens bikini areas and a cartridge with four blades. I generally use Dollar Shave Club 5 blade cartridges and shave products and am pleased with the results. However it took 5 of their cartridges to shave my head when i decided to do try the bald look. I like the look but not the expense and decided to buy a straight razor. Saw numerous reviews saying the razor cannot be shaved with out of the box. I think this may become my new razor to shave with. With no product on dry skin it took the hair off closer than a cartridge could with no burn. Straight out of the box with no strop.
refined old school razor

I'm a fervent fan of the old-fashioned razor since my father taught me to shave since a teenager. Compared to the modern electric razor, it gives you more sharp and clean hair-cut result without giving you razor bumps if used properly. This razor is made from China and the quality is superb-especially considering it's cheap price. The wooden body part is made of fine wood which you can definitely feel it and the steel blade is sharp enough to cut the most detailed and ingrown part of the hair. It has a hollow area in between the wood so it gives much more hygienic feeling keeping it stored.
While appearing quite sharp and after stroping 60 to 80 careful strokes and keeping a correct angle from flat to then slightly rased once felt like it was cutting

Not shave ready. I had pics to put up of my cheek the next day from the "pull". I mean, you have to "test" it to see if you can shave but don't expect from a simple cheek stroke to wake up with red marks, --but I did.
Yes, I stropped and etc. seemed to catch arm hair mid way. While appearing quite sharp and after stroping 60 to 80 careful strokes and keeping a correct angle from flat to then slightly rased once felt like it was cutting, -- it just didn't cut even with short multiple recovered back strokes. It could not have been harder and just didn't get it. Not shave ready. I'm not going to then hone, polish and strob and test again, so, back it goes.

Well engineered but not for thick/stiff hair.

This is indeed a beautiful and well engineered razor.
I did also buy two other razors at similar price points and this is by far the most beautiful one.
However, none of the shavers came as shave ready.
Perhaps when sellers say shave ready they mean good enough to shave peach fuzz hair.
In any case, I got to practice my honing techniques on this. However, despite having spent a lot of time and lots of different stones and green stropping compound, I can get it to shave ready but it does not last the full shave.
I do notice that a carbon steel (from another even cheaper razor) can hold a far superior edge and give me a much nicer shave.
Of course carbon steel does require more maintenance so it is important to keep it dry and oiled as it stains very quickly and easily.
