Caused redness and irritation but dried out new acne

I think this product would work well for those with tough skin. Mine isn't terribly sensitive but after using this once before bed and once in the morning, my skin gradually got more and more red throughout the day until I finally washed it off with my old acne kit. I only started using it because my skin typically gets used to certain products and stops working as well after about 4 months. All the tiny new acne was dryed out after just two uses, but I think this product is just too harsh for me. My cheeks especially are still very red and my whole face feels dry and sunburnt (although I haven't spent any time in the sun).

I have terrible acne. This is the only thing that works. I developed acne in my 30's. Believe me, I have spent gazillions of dollars and tried everything from Clinique, Murad, Proactive to organic home remedies. My skin looks better than ever. I rarely, if ever, get pimples anymore. The caveat is that if I run out of this magical elixir, they do come back with a vengeance.

My daughter has had pretty bad acne since age 12 (now 15) and we have tried just about everything OTC. Was hesitant at first because Paula's seemed to be just like Proactiv, which we have been using for about 2 years. It took Proactiv about 3 to 4 weeks to reveal any noticeable changes and the bottles never last the timeframe they are supposed to. For the price of the travel pack however it was worth the risk and I am elated I took it. Within ONE day my daughter talked about a "different feeling" in her skin, she said her skin felt clean and it was breathing for the first time since her very first breakout. Visible changes to her skin occurred within 3 days of use 2X per day. She has had problems with tiny blackheads in the pores of her nose GONE! She has had constant redness in her cheeks GONE! She has had tiny pimples on her forehead caused by oil filled pores GONE! Not to mention that although this is a travel pack with bottles about the size of travel shampoo, the bottles are still practically full (delivered May 6) 2 full weeks later with twice per day use. I'm amazed at the quality of this product and will be purchasing the full versions.
It Dries the Skin & Clears Up Fine Acne

Although it cleared up the fine acne that was on my forehead, it left my skin incredibly painful and dry... and I have oily skin! I bought it to clear up the large, painful pimples that occasionally appears, but it didn't work for that very quickly. I'd hope this was similar or better than Proactiv's extra strength, which works wonders to clear up my acne. Proactiv is too expensive and you have to be a member and get the regular acne products just to get the extra strength. It's a rip off! Even though Proactiv Extra strength dries my skin a bit, it isn't as bad as this product. I think I might purchase the cream (3rd step bottle) to have for spot treatments, but not the other bottles.

wanted to like this , I believe it is a good product , but was a little too strong for my son's skin, he has very sensitive skin and we tried using it for a couple of days, but it was uncomfortable and burned his skin, probably a little more effective for someone with less sensitive skin
