This charging stand works quite well. I a 5s I-phone in an Otterback case. It does fit in the slot, but not any room to spare. The charging cord that came with my Apple Watch is quite long and getting that and USB cable for charging the phone through the opening in the bottom of the stand is a challenge but do-able. If the charging stand had some additional weight it would help hold USB cables in place under the charging stand, but on the whole it works as it is advertised. I have had no problem charging my Apple Watch first series.

Doesn't just work for Apple products. My Fossil Q charger fits (with some extra padding) as does my Moto X with a case. I like that the usb charging is built in and 3 amps. Not as fast as a Qualcomm Quick Charge, but much faster than most usb chargers.

I really wanted to like this but unfortunately it needs work. If you have three usb cables connected to the back it makes the base bottom heavy and it slips off the desk or nightstand. If my phone is charging then it is ok because it makes it heavier. But if my watch is the only thing there, the cables pull it off the desk and my watch falls too. Not good. I had to put a command sticky thing under the base to stick it to the table which I don't like because I wanted to carry it around my house and use it in different places and at work. I decided to buy a different base for my bedroom and work so this one stays here stuck to my desk. Not cool. I think it needs to be heavier to be more effective.

Maybe I'm just really sensitive to noise but the cord on the charging stand was unusually loud. I had it on my nightstand and I could hear humming throughout the night. I drove me nuts. I had to return it.
*UPDATE* Customer service contacted me promptly after I wrote this review and offered an exchange. The one I initially got must have just been a dud because this one works just great. No noise. This company has excellent customer service. Very pleased!
