These remind me of my grandmothers appliance covers. The quilted pattern is not flattering at all, but the fit is decent and so far it is holding up well.

Better than most, is thicker. I, myself, put this cover on & then use plastic sheeting over window, esp because I live way up northeast & temps can dip to below zero. I advise doing same if your winter weather is the same. It is best if one takes ac window unit out but most of us, esp seniors cannot do this heavy duty task & others may not have the space to put ac on floor. If can one should cover ac on outside as well if the can reach to do it. The pros say that not removing ac out of window reduces life span of ac but so far my acs are doing ok & they are about 7 yrs old. Hope this is helpful.
