If you have an older lava-rock style fireplace, it can be hard to find a replacement burner that will give you a substantial central flame. Unlike the fireglass-style pits, which have small, inconsistent flames racing across the glass, the older fire pits have a camp-fire like central flame, perfect for roasting marshmallows, enjoying the warmth, etc. With just a 1/2 gas line, this burner produced a very significant flame of more than 12 inches in the center of our pit. Perfect for what we were looking for!
