Quality Pants - Color, Belt and Size Mismatch
LUCK✓ Verified Purchase•August 1, 2018
These are heavy-duty, yet fairly light pants. If you've purchased light hiking pants before, you'll find that these are somewhat heavier-duty, but still fairly lightweight. Perfect for walking, hiking or physical activity in most types of weather. The waistline is partially elastic - so as long as you get close to the correct waist size, these should fit comfortably.
However, there are some downsides to be aware of:
* They tend to run longer than expected (I usually wear a 32 to 34 length, but had to return these for a 30 length)
* The color may not match the picture (I ordered "Olive Drab", which I needed for an Africa trip, but the color I received was much more of a "Dark Olive" which had to be returned)
* Some colors are pictured with a belt - but neither of the 2 pairs I received came with a belt
* I'm not a big fan of the velcro waist fastener and would prefer a button.

a 5 star pant with a 3 star rating

TL;DR : These pants don't seem like they'll hold up if you're an active person.
Ok so I'm 6'5" 230. It is next to impossible for me to find pants that are long enough and don't look completely awful. then one night while surfing amazon just wishing I could buy everything I like (as I often do when I'm bored) I come across these bad boys. It's like finally a company woke up and said "you know what there are literally millions of tall people in the world, why do they have to struggle to find a pant? well they don't anymore cuz were making these" honestly it was an incredible business decision they have single handedly cornered and entire market -- well done on them. Well i'm sure you've guessed, Brad's no longer wishing - BOOM - He's buying now! ok great so I get these in the 36 length they come in and of course I immediately try them on. they fit like a glove. LIKE A GLOVE THAT HAS BEEN CUSTOM TAILORED TO MY HAND! THE FIT IS PERFECT! lets talk material. I planned on using these for hiking and for work (im an athletic trainer) these are a pant that allows movement. and i mean all the movement you can muster! perfect for athletic training and hiking. so you're probably thinking "brad this seems like a great review, your star rating confuses me" and I know it does so lets talk about it. I wear these to work the day after they come in and being an AT I'm outside often. There are naturally lights outside for when it gets dark. The lights at my work are cemented into place and the cement comes about 36" high. So I wasn't really paying attention and accidentally bump into the concrete that holds the light pole in place. I immediately look down at my leg and there is a hole in the pant. Albeit a small hole but a hole nonetheless. I didn't sprint into the concrete, I didn't aggressively rub my thigh on the concrete, I just lightly bumped into it. Being that these are marketed as tactical pants I imagine people will be doing much more than I did in them, like kneeling, shooting, sliding, and rolling, on hard surfaces including concrete or pavement. These pants don't seem like they are going to hold up for activities like that. I wan't to give these pants 5 stars so bad I really do. but a light bump into a cement block forces me to give it 3.

I wish they made these in a 30" length

I wish they made these in a 30" length, they would be PERFECT! I am going to wash them a few times and see if they shrink a bit, if not then I will have them hemmed up to the correct length.
These are very well made pants, great zippers and attention to detail, not OVERLY done like some of those other tactical pants. The material is light weigh and somewhat stretchy but not too much, and I like the Velcro closure system rather than a snap or button, well done!

Great product. Bought a pair to see how they fit and liked them enough to buy 2 additional pairs. Crotch isn't so low that it minimizes flexibility. Hidden inside pockets around waistband. Plenty of pockets for gadgets and "cool-guy" gear. Durable enough to trail ride on my dirtbike and not get ripped by all the briars. Only thing I didn't like at first is the waist velcros where a normal pair of pants have a button. It's okay, but I'm used to buttons. Neither a pro or a con at this point. Back of the waist has stretchy spot to allow a perfect fit if you're "in-between sizes." I normally wear a 32-30 (I'm 5'10" 165lbs of "solid muscle" aka dad-bod) and they felt long prior to washing, but once they were washed, they have shrank a small bit and fit better than my jeans.
Goodbye Tru Spec, Hello Helikon-Tex!
KillTheKing✓ Verified Purchase•January 5, 2017
Absolutely love these pants. They are extremely comfortable and slim fitting. I ordered to match my exact regular pant size and they feel great although the pants legs were a little longer than I expected. When sitting down the pants leg covers the heel which is better than being too short. The cellphone pockets are nice and fit an iPhone 7Plus without a case with no spare room. I wish the cellphone pockets were slightly bigger to accommodate my iPhone 7 Plus with its Mophie case. These pants are comfortable when sitting down and do not bunch up in the crotch area like other tactical pants. I wish the back pockets at least had velcro to make them close as they are open pockets but I carry front pocket wallets so no big deal. I ordered khaki and plan on ordering a few more pairs. Time to use the old Tru Spec pants as yard pants and switch to Helikon-Tex. Pricey but appear to be worth the money. Just a good looking and comfortable tactical pant. Finally, a tactical pant that isn't trying to be a 5.11 knock-off.
