First thing first this is an expensive facade! Let's not sugar coat that fact at all. There is a lot more reasonable alternatives to this for DJ setups. I was however looking to expand my truss collection and I was willing to pay the extra couple hundred for the table, scrims, and top tube. As shown in my photos I also opted to spend another $180 to add the speaker mounts to this setup for a super clean look.

So let's talk about this setup, first off this arrived in several boxes. Most of them, if not all of them arrived intact, however the steel mesh table top had a nice ping in one of the panels that required me to bend and pound it out with a mallet. Other than that everything else arrived in acceptable condition. If you have ever assembled truss before this setup is nothing complicated. I was easily able to assemble this myself within 20 minutes the first time.

So what do I think? I think the limiting factor of this whole setup is the location of the crossbars on the main truss chords prevents a whole lot of variability on a 2 meter truss section for adjusting the scrim and table height. If you want the lower scrim nice and tight you will be stuck with your table height at 40". I am right at 6' so this table height is okay, if you are shorter you will probably NOT like your table that tall. When you install the upper scrim it all but forces you to mount your lights on top of the 2 meter bar. This is fine for pars and wash effects, but certainly it is not good for movers. Of course there is always ways to get around that, just spend more money.....

I have totem plates that I would put on top of these truss sections if I wanted to use moving heads on this setup. I would like to purchase some 2" to 2" swivel clamps so I can use this in totem mode and have the bar clamp to the front of the truss sections. The bar is key if you want to hang speakers from the sides like I have shown in the photos. The base plates are long and skinny and the bar provides the side to side stability needed for mounting the speakers on the side. The table and the scrim tubes are not beefy enough to provide the side to side stability needed for heavy items like speakers to side mount. A couple of lights would be fine, but 50 lbs speakers would cause the totems to possibly tip without the rigid top bar.

Quality wise I did not notice any shortcomings on this setup. I did have to adjust the brackets for the top tube so I can align the pin holes, but beyond that this was more or less plug and play. This is a bulky transport item, but if you have truss then you probably already are well aware of that fact. I use a trailer to transport my equipment, so this is off slight concern to me. I expect to use this every couple of gigs, so time will tell if it is well built and road worthy.
