Our 100 lb pitty Archie had cancer surgery. One of his three incisions is on his neck so any cone (we have inflatables) isn't feasible. The vet's office recommended a surgical suit which we had never heard of. Thank goodness they told us about it! The suit was easy to put on, very nice fabric - soft and light, and it has a nice little "pocket" above the tail which is perfect since we don't want to cover his hind end. Archie is 26" long and 35" around his chest. We bought the 2XL-S and it fits PERFECTLY. Excellent product"¦.we highly recommend it!
All that and more

I bought 3 different brands of onesies for my post-op pup. She is a somewhat oddly sized/shaped GSD, so if someone has a very long, large dog, this is one of the reviews to note! I have a very long, skinny girl. She's 23" at the shoulders, and for these measurements, 30" over her back, and around 75lbs. She is, however, usually all hair, lol, being a longhair, so she usually looks much larger than she is. This clings loosely - applies light pressure without being so tight to touch her sutures. It's actually ended up a godsend as she had a complication with the 8" incision over her rump that's continued to seep for days. It holds the carefully folded puppy pad over the wound to soak up seepage, since you can't adhere bandages to a dog this has been a lifesaver. This is the only one of the 3 that can do this for us - the location helps since the fabric naturally applies a little more pressure and her body is between it and gravity, but regardless, godsend.
That said, the night this started up, this poor thing was massively bled through, for a long long night at the ER vet. But the next day I rinsed it the best I could, soaked it in oxiclean for a few hours, and then put it through a deep wash + extra rinse cycle, and it came out 100% stain free. I was thoroughly surprised. The other fabrics hold stain.
The tail hole is actually tail sized, unlike the others that are just confusingly massive openings. I was a little worried at first about the straps cutting off circulation, but they seem fine after extended use. Stretchy like the rest. And unlike the other more cheaply made ones, the velcro is not a pain in her rump to peel off and attach.
I almost didn't buy it at first because it's about $10 more expensive than the average onesie in her size, but trust me, it's worth the $10 comparatively. The material is nicer and safer, the fit is so much better, the velcro is actually functional and not sewed on by middle school home-ec students, and it cleans so much more nicely. I almost never leave a review on something after only a few days, but here I am.

My (small) Dane @ 100lbs - got neutered at 3 years old. He is a very lively guy and with the help of some trazadone and this suit, healing so far has been a breeze. We're 3 days post op and he's only gotten to his incision one time overnight while I was sleeping (no damage done) and it's only cause after a middle of the night potty break he immediately laid down and I wasn't able to secure the straps like I needed to (totally on me). Otherwise, he has left it completely alone. It's super easy to unfasten for bathroom breaks and super comfy and stretchy. I do wish I would have gone maybe a size down (I got the 2x) as he is very lean and it's a little baggy in the backside area, but still works great. The cone of shame went on one time and he almost destroyed my house in a span of 3 mins. This thing is a must have for post-neuter surgery. 10 stars honestly.
Velcro wears out quickly

Overall this is a great product. We purchased two suits for our puppies post spay surgery. The size according to the measurements on the chart were right on the money. The dogs have seemed comfortable in them and haven't seemed to need to try to kick the surgical sights. The Lycra type material moves with the dog well and has been remarkably tear and strain resistant. Unfortunately, it and the suit design are not easy to get on and off the dog. Definitely a two person job most of the time, even with a fairly mellow puppy. My only real complaint has been the Velcro on the rear flap which attaches to the back of the suit. The loop side (on the back) started failing on day 3. The flaps are under quite a bit of strain- particularly when the dog is sitting or laying curled up. The side straps have very small hook patches and the loop pad stopped holding them. Not enough surface friction under the strain. The flap covering the back loop patch is nearly worthless as designed. It would be better if it also had a large patch of hook material on the inside that would help relieve the strain on the side flaps.
Overall, this has been a good product, the dogs did well with it and it is way better than the cone of shame. For the price it is a pretty good product. Fix the Velcro straps and this will be a 5 star product.

Fit is great, functional

I bought the large long for my 48 lb mixed something or other. Butt rolls up well for long walks and it seems comfortable. My dog did run through thickets (because she doesn't listen well to her post surgical instructions) and it tore rather easily but I would expect that with the spandex-type material. She also gets a lot of complements on her barbie theme as I bought the pink.
