Good value. Well coated. Had no issues with screws, pilot hole first.

The instructions are a little harder to follow in the details, but no worse than your typical Swedish furniture maker provides. Final product seems quite sturdy and ready for a long life of use.

the instructions could be a little more clear. we had a few issues while installing.

1. the instructions could have been more clear by mentioning which way the gate will slide. the instructions talk about left and right sides but that is subjective to which way the gate is going to slide.

2. the instructions don't mention any requirements for the deck railing. we had build our deck first and then decided to add the sliding gate. the hardware, as is, doesn't work properly with a railing that is capped by a piece of wood. this issue is addressed on the last page of of the directions. but there was no suggested solution if you already have build the deck. (we did alter how the guides line up, and made it work but the solution we came up with required a little out of the box thinking... this solution should have been addressed in the instructions).

3. on a similar note, the post and the rail are supposed to be flush. again the directions don't mention this. we added a small block to make things line up, but again the directions did not offer any solution to this issue.

so all of our issues were with the directions basically. the gate works like it's supposed to. the corner braces make for a sturdy gate. at first I thought the whole set up was a little expensive, but have changed my mind. making this gate without this kit would be a pain. woeth the money. just familiarize yourself with the instructions and the issues I've highlighted.

Great product. Highly recommend if you are looking for a sliding gate. Was simple to put together.
