Nice little box, but not as a portable tool box

This is a difficult box to review. You'll either love it or hate it depending on your expectations and needs.
First, it is small, but you knew that already since the dimensions are clearly given in the description.
It is put together pretty well. No fancy joinery, but pretty clean lines.
Two potential pitfalls:
1) The wood used is very light and soft, almost like balsa wood. I'm considering building my own using this design, but making it from oak.
2) The slide-out box has no latch. While this is also clear from the description, it makes it almost useless for carrying stuff around. The box will slide out with the help of gravity. It wouldn't be hard to add a small latch. I might even use velcro to keep it attached to the main box.
Note that the light fragile construction may be fine if you're not planning to move it around much.
