Really bright BU bulbs!
CKohlman✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 31, 2023
Put these in a 2012 Suburban whose stock BU lights might rival a candle on a good day. These bulbs are BRIGHT. What an improvement! Easy to install given that most cars these days require an hour of labor to replace. 2 screws and then pull the module out. Little blast of dielectric grease on the connector, insert the bulb and plug it into the module.

Longevity? They have been installed for 2 days. Given that these gems are made in China only time will tell. They say they have a 1 year warranty but who knows? I've replaced other 194s with LED equivalents and I've had a 50% failure rate (NOT THIS MANUFACTURER). Chinese stuff can be hit or miss. Keep your receipt in your records. I have no idea how willing they will be to replace these bright boys if they fail prematurely.
Great Lights 100% worth it

Well the pictures show more light then what they actually give off but take into consideration I have smoked out tail lights so the lens is basically pitch black. Other then that they are pretty bright no complains except for the fitting they're a bit loose but they won't come out of place & I haven't had moisture get into them either. 100% would recommend them can just imagine how bright they'd be in a clear housing & relatively inexpensive for how good they are. Very happy with the lights will probably buy another set for my other trucks.
Bright as hell

Update 2/16/2021: After nearly two years, these things are still going strong.

I've always been a fan of Autolumination's LEDs. They were always super bright, but a bit pricey and they usually lasted about a year. After my last reverse light failure, I finally decided to try my luck with Amazon and found these LEDs.

Wow.

I'm really not joking with that headline. These things are like driving in reverse with headlights. They are RIDICULOUSLY bright. They illuminate my entire garage when pulling in if the lights are out. I drive a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer and even with the heatsink, I had no issues with fitment or installation. I personally don't understand the purpose of the large heatsink. Reverse lights aren't something you use consistently, maybe 15 second bursts. I deliberately left mine on for about a minute while testing them and the heatsink was barely warm to the touch. The reason I was concerned is because installing the reverse lights in my car requires that I remove the lining in my trunk lid and a hot heatsink will melt the liner. Fortunately, I won't have this issue.

Part of me wants to buy a 7443 set for my brake lights, but that would be a bit much.
Bright, but the large heat sink may require modfications of the car!

This review is based on the 921 variant in the 2018 Honda Accord.

The promised brightness of 2100 lumens per bulb (!!!) just seemed insane enough to try it. I think they do deliver, but right next to (very bright) 1000 lumen turn lights, they seem similar in brightness (despite the amber color of the turn lights). It specifically says 2100 lumen per bulb (while some listings combine the light output of the set of two), so maybe the it's the measurement method? Further, be aware of a few things ...

While the 921 socket is the fit to the electrical contacts in the car, and in this case that is the right fit for the 2018 Honda Accord, it does not by itself guarantee that you can install these bulbs without problems since the shape is so different. Fundamentally, the rubber grommet instead of a socket allows these bulbs to fit a variety of cars, and the difference is in the cable extension that connects to car's socket. The latter becomes a connector since in its stead the bulb's grommet sits in the reflector. That's maybe not the most elegant solution but it's practical.

In my case (2018 Accord), the backup lights are located in the trunk lid and peeling the liner to the side is as easy as removing one pop rivet and folding it over. You could technically get by without removing the rivet, but Honda has a little surprise for the unsuspecting intruder. There is a plastic wall right next to the socket, which may be unique to the particular car. (See pictures) It may make perfect sense to protect the socket and cable, but for these unusual bulbs they pose a hurdle.

Part of the protective guard needs to be removed for the large heat sink of the bulb to fit and allow the rubber grommet to properly seat. It's not too diffult as the guard is plastic, but promised bright light will not come to fruition if you're not comfortable with making such modification.

Once there is enough room for the heat sink, the bulbs fit in any orientation and that's both questionable as well as advantageous. Questionable since there is no guarantee that the bulbs will be oriented properly, or that the chosen orientation is maintained. Advantageous may be that one can pick the most efficient orientation depending on the shape of your reflector. In the Accord is seemed to be beneficial to orient the bulbs as shown (picture).

Once installed, the bulbs are truly bright, but not instantly. The curious start-up phase takes a second or two to reach peak brightness. In a way it's similar to Xenon HID lights. Since it's roughly 2 seconds, it's not unbearable, but it does feel out of place for LEDs. It seemed intentional at first, but when you turn it off and back on with a few seconds between, it resumes with full brightness ... almost as if they had to warm up. Then again, it might help onlookers to "get used" to the brightness in normal use. The light itself is slightly blue but generally brilliant white. Typically that means improved night vision in addition to the "extreme" brightness.
