Essential for bread makers

A bread lame is must have for anyone who wants to make pretty bread at home! I bought this after purchasing a proofing basket. I was having some trouble using a sharp kitchen knife to score the top of the bread, it normally wouldn't be a deep enough score and the bread would end up tearing along the top. This bread lame is more like a razor blade, gives you nice sharp cuts, and makes it really easy to do pretty scored designs.
Attaching the blade to the handle was a little bit scary. I was worried that I was going to cut myself. However the lame came with really thorough instructions so I was able to put it together without too many issues.
My only complaint is that the case it comes with isn't very attractive. It's a light pink and blue plastic. I'm keeping the lame in there because it really needs to have a case, but I really wish that it were stainless steel instead of pink.

I ordered this when I realized how easy it was to make bread at home so I wanted to make it look like the fancy bread stores and this thing works perfectly! It is so easy to use because the blade is so thin and sharp it slices right through the raw dough like butter! It has a nice handle and comes in a little case to store it in and comes with extra blades. Really cool!

I am not sure if I am using it wrong or if it only works for certain bread doughs but so far it hasnt cut very well through it. I will try again with a different bread once I bake it. I aso tried it on a dough for dumplings.i did try wetting the blde and then cutting as it said in the tips, it was only a little bit easier to cut. Next time i will try dipping in oil as I read that helps a lot. It is a nice lame i like the wooden handle and its nice it comes with extra blades and a storage box.
