Great strong metal. I have 2 Chinchillas so finding the right hay rack is a struggle. I like that I can add the hay without having to open my cage. The first time I used it being excited I filled it to the top. my male chinchilla was in the cage by himself and being the brat he sometimes can be (any chinchilla owner knows what I mean) he literally grabbed it all out and threw the hay out of the cage. So now I only put a handful at a time in his, I can fill the one for My girl chinchilla all the way up and she will daintily take only what she wants and doesn't make the mess my male does. 😂

I took off one star only because I wish there were a bit of a ledge facing the cage so it would stop some of the finer bits of hay that fall out the way it is. But if you have Chinchillas then the bits of hay is expected along with flying chin-poops 😩. I told my friend who freaked out... they just eat hay and hay pellets so it is basically just grass 😂 I grew up on a farm and as kids we had dry cow patty fights all the time. It's just grass.

Also measure your cage where you want to put this because it is quite large. But is fine with e ferret naation Cage mine are in. And it has two little hooks that hold it on so literally installs in 2 seconds. I'd definitely buy it again...

I love these hay holders! It's so nice not having to open the cage to drop hay in and it's the cleanest hay holder I've tried so far (and I've tried quite a few). My bunnies have no issue pulling the hay through the cage too which I was a little worried about at first

I have 4 chinchillas and if you put hay inside their cage they dig it out in an hour this make is so at least they eat as much as they waste unlike their method before where 2% was eaten 95% peed on and 3% thrown out of the cage.

I love them easy to fill and they attach easy to both types of cages I use
