Item was delivered on time and was a great jacket pattern.

Pay no attention to the description or suggestions on the package. This is NOT a kimono. It is a jacket or coat or a shirt, usable winter and summer, lined or unlined, floaty or crisp in light or midweight fabrics. Look at the lines: the front has curving bodice seams that meet at the breast area. This is a universally flattering line and, if sewed in a french seam, is strong enough to carry a large artisan button (the one in the picture is a double button removable for washing.) the same seam can be opened where necessary to form a barely visible buttonhole or pair of grommets on each side to hold decorative cords, not obtrusive when the piece is worn open. The center seam of the skirt below can be sewn closed, hemmed for a shirt in thin fabrics, self or contrast-faced for most lengths in most fabrics. The sleeves can be long, short or rolled, as they do not taper. A short jacket can be cut out of 1 1/2 yards of fabric. It is extremely easy to make and adapt. Hard to improve on!! Many more than five stars!!

I have used this pattern to make 3 different robes from wedding dress trains. It has enough design details to allow for flexibility when a challenging layout is required.
