Good Basic Kettle

Nothing fancy, it's a quality kettle, and can't be beat for the price. I use this for brewing 2.5 gallon BIAB batches and it works perfect for that.

This kettle does the trick for heating up my Sparge water. The lid fits on way too tight. The metal is fairly cheap.
nice pot but bottom is not flat
Kickerville Clem✓ Verified Purchase•March 31, 2018
The pot seems well made and should work just fine for me IF it had a flat bottom. It is convex (term is "oil canned") so contact with stove top is at a point about the size of a dime or quarter coin and rocks around. I am returning to Amazon after discussing with the seller. I hope that Amazon with make sure the bottom is flat before shipping the reorder.
Updated review; I received a second pot in exchange from Amazon. I spoke with an Amazon customer service rep and explained my issue. He ensured me that he would put a note on the order for shipping to check the next one for a flat bottom. It didn't happen. Shame Amazon.
The seller, Gas One contacted me and offered to ship from their own inventory. They took pictures of the one they found with a bottom the was slightly concave but at least wouldn't rock on my flat top electric range. I received it and tried to bring water to a boil Because the bottom didn't fully contact the burner, the water wouldn't come to a rolling boil without holding the bottom down to the burner with a wooden spoon.
My conclusion is that this nice but low cost pot will only work as it was intended; on a gas burner or at least a coil element electric range. If one really wants to or needs to use a glass top electric range, you will have to buy more expensive pot with thick, machine flat bottom.
Or, in my case, I'm keeping this pot and borrowing a propane burner from a beer-making family member.
I thank Gas One for their diligence in helping solve the problem and I would recommend this pot to be used as it is designed for.

Been using it for a week boiling down maple sap. Once the season is done I'll clean it and geet ready to start brewing ale. All around great product
The taller profile worked out great for my small stovetop

The taller profile worked out great for my small stovetop. It sure seems sturdy enough after using it 3 times.
